Looking up famous people on Wiki - footballers, actors, whatever - and realising many of them are a lot younger than me. And I'm 26. Nothing quite speeds up the feeling of being old and unsuccessful when you realise you're roughly the same age as Adele andTaylor Swift.

Wtf have I been doing with my life?

    When Prince died.

Trying to compare him to modern artists.

I'm that Dad trying to be all hip and cool. Yeah, that's me.

    I'm Alan Partridge.

When doing a financial review ( ok I did a financial review- add that to the list) and realised that I had being paying health insurance, pension, serious illness and life insurance for the last 10ish years. I'm not really that old!!

Actually it was last year when both my parents were seriously ill at the same time. My only other sibling was out of the country. My husband was dealing with a family crisis on his side of the family at the same time. There was a part of me looking for the responsible adult to hand it all over to..... only to realise Oh Sh1t I was/am the responsible adult now.

To paraphrase a friend "sometimes being a old/grownup/adult/responsible sucks .... monkey balls!"

Fawlty Towers will live forever though.
It's been on permanent repeat since the dawn of satellite television in this part of the world.

When a post on another thread informed me about a 'hoe filter' on Snapchat and I had no clue what was going on.

    I googled. I despaired. I felt old.

I was doing a college exam yesterday and a girl walked passed me wearing a "Leaving Cert Class of '15" hoody. I only did my Leaving in 2012 and that made me feel a bit outdated :(

Many things have made me notice my age, but the most recent one was yesterday. My youngest child (9) came home from school and told me he'd been learning about Elvis.

    In History.

Reminds me of some z list Irish celebrity going on about her "cause celebre". She was referring to 2010 as back in those days!

Nope. It's when you see people wearing a hoody like that, who weren't alive when you did your LC - that's old.

Well I don't feel old at all, younger than ever really but...

At 35, my dream of captaining Ireland in a Euros/World Cup as some kind of old school Midfield General is looking less and less likely to happen. The only thing I have going for me now is Francesco Totti still banging in goals in Italy and he's 39.

Another footie related thing to make you feel ancient...

Bury striker Callum Styles has become the first player born in the 21st century to feature in the Football League.

The teenager replaced Anthony Dudley in the 75th minute of the Shakers' 3-2 win over Southend on Sunday aged just 16 years and 41 days, having been born on 28 March 2000, according to The Times.

You'll win nothing with kids though...

    right?

I got to PT sessions and some fitness classes in a gym here (UK) and one of the other halls is used for after school ballet classes. The girls leave their bags in the hallway outside the door and on Monday I tripped over one and commented "for fúck sake, there's 9 changing rooms all around here and they leave their stuff in the ha... crap I've turned into my Dad".

Talking to a girl in work. It was her birthday. Are you doing anything nice for it, I ask. "Spending the night with the fam."
Then she actually said "lol" in response to something. Actual ****ing lol.
