pardon my ignorance....could be a VERY silly question, or previously answered. The FIRST bloody question...im in both recruitment campaigns. how do I know which one they have sent the vetting forms and PCA date for? how do i know which UID to use? I feel like a right dummy here.
If you have received a PCA date then it will be for the 1405 campaign.

ok guys thanks alot for both inputs. which both colide and conflict lol.

considering my 1405 was scraping the bottom, for lack of a better term, and my 1509 score was bang on the same score give or take im going to assume the PCA date, vetting forms, and online learning is for the 1405 campaign? sorry to be a pain.

also id like to know if theres anyone in the same boat as me? hear nothing really for months then boom all at the same time. any light shed or even opinions on whats happening would be greatly appreciated as i feel a bit shellshocked by it all lol!

Sent my forms away today and I've just recalled that I saw a section to enter driving licence number, passport number. Was that in the section for PSNI to fill in or for us?

If you recently received vetting, PCA and online learning it is for 1405 campaign. The higher scorers in the 1509 campaign have just received vetting forms.

There are a few in the same boat! All quiet in 1405 for a long time and then everything happening at once :-) There is a 1405 thread if you want to have a look.

Hi, another tattoo question. I have a tattoo ring on my wedding finger that is covered when I wear the actual ring. Reason being I couldn't wear a ring in my current line of work. I know the state no tattoos on face, neck or hands. Could this be a problem??
    Thanks

You're allowed to wear a wedding band on duty. Maybe send off pics with and without the ring on for them to decide and explain why you have it there.

The cover letter that comes with the vetting papers has your UID number on it. I'd put both campaign numbers on the page.

It's changed since your day Mop ;):)

The vetting forms are plastic wrapped (and in an envelope) with a generic cover/instructions letter. The only details of the applicant are on the address label of the envelope.

Another pestering session from me....in the questionnaire it talks about a relationship you were in for longer than 12 months then give the details. In the security one it only asks about a partner you lived with. Basically my plight is i was in a long term relationship but didnt live with the person. I have obviously filled out part 1 and included the details. Any thoughts on including it for part 2?

Similar situation for myself. I put partner details on part 1 but because we didn't live together I didn't include in part 2

Probably a silly question, but put my mind at ease.

Just finished filling out the forms. Checked, double checked and checked again i had everything filled out. In an instance that something isnt clear to them, or they need more info, will they just get in touch with me?

I think everything is grand, just worrying now incase i have made a mistake somewhere and the potential it may have to jeopardize my chances!

They will get in touch. If something needs redone, for instance a signature, they will send the form back.

When vetting do they contact your current employer? Did i see a question saying if you dont want your employer contacted please mark here? I think if they did and my application was unsuccessful then my current boss may make my position difficult. Any help on this?

Lol then I may well have dreamt this! with everything coming all at once its been quite a stessful process. Which question are u referring to, the marking your current employment or the marking if you would not like them contacted?

eitherway with this subject......do they contact your employer? again, sorry if this question seems obsurd.

Tell me about it! Will have grey hairs by the end of this I'm sure. I marked my current employment but didn't see a question about them being contacted.

To be honest I'm not sure if they contact them or not. I would prefer they didn't (unless I was 100% in). Like you said it would make things awkward, especially as they have recently given me a promotion!

There was a question about current employment but I don't think they mentioned contacting your current employer. Unless your currently in a government role and maybe then they do some cross referencing?? Im not sure but I'm sure if they do employment checks it would be discrete

They don't contact your employer. Well they didn't with me

I received an email 2 weeks ago asking me to clarify something, so they have at least looked at the forms!

    Hey guys

I am thinking of applying for the next recruitment campaign...

If I was to be successful and get the the vetting stage, what details do they ask on it?

What is one of the main things I want to know is what do they need to know is it just immediate family they need to know about or do you need all details of every aunt and uncle?

Because ive aunts and uncles in america and the UK and other places too!

tommy-Kerry the vetting forms are in a lot of detail, mainly just ask for immediate family, You would be a far way from that stage tho, as I only filled the vetting form out last month and I applied last July. 2 Major stages need to be passed to get to Vetting, This forum has been helpful in so many ways for me, from info to just having friendly conversations. Best of luck when you do decide to apply. :)

The vetting only asks for details about your mum, dad, brothers and sisters. Other things that are asked about include your previous addresses, work history, convictions (including all driving offences) and some questions about your finances. You won't need to hunt down anything about long lost aunts and uncles!
