hmmmm, so you think the 3rd parties who order phones in the thousands from HTC are further down their pecking order than a joe blogs who at best will order one phone per year from them.

Surely you have to count all the pre-orders together, and also realise that people who pre-order are some of their most loyal customers.

If HTC just said that you could get it earlier from a 3rd party, then I wouldn't have bothered pre-ordering. As it is, my local 3 store said they would have it tomorrow. HTC are seriously testing my patience, their terms say they don't take money until the device is shipped.

I think they should be able to manage both in tandem. They should be able to anticipate supply line issues and head them off. At the very least, they should have been candid with those who placed pre-orders about likely dispatch timelines

Can you imagine Apple not meeting direct orders of the next iphone more quickly than Very, of all people? Not a good look for any tech company looking to be taken seriously, let alone HTC, who really need to demonstrate some credibility if they're to last.

Part of the aerial setup. Unfortunately necessary when you have quality metal construction.

Would have preferred if they put in IR blaster like on previous few devices.

Hard to see why they left out the IR, tbh. It has the look of a last minute decision.

    Very true.

Not only that, one guy ordered with Very for a 20% discount yesterday, and tweeted for loads of other people to do the same. Received his today, and very gave him a further discount to bring his price down to £370.

If HTC just sorted out their supply issues, or were at least a bit more clear about what's going on, none of this would happen.

Does that "Very" crowd deliver to Parcel Motel?

From what I gather, to get the discount you have to enter a credit agreement, which involves a credit check and a possible phone call from them. Pretty much impossible to do from here.

3 will have them in stock tomorrow or the day after. Annoying that my money has been taken, otherwise I'd probably just cancel my preorder at this stage.

I've seen a few people on HTC UKs Twitter ask about cancelling and the reps just say to DM the order number and it'll take 5-7 days to refund the money.

Must admit, I've been following @HTC_UK just for the pure entertainment of abuse they're getting recently :D

You and I both, I looked at one point yesterday and it was just a wall of the reps replying various versions of "its shipping soon"

Well I've family over here (I'm actually in London until tomorrow) who I could get to sign up, but like you said, its available tomorrow back in Ireland
Although, the price from Very is 580 with discount. So if its 700+ here, then it might be worth it (its 799 + delivery from HTC Ireland).
I might pop down and price it in a CPW today. The phone is actually released here, ye?

Jerry does an interesting comparison of the s7 and the 10's video cameras. Worth a look.
    I like both.

Overall prefer the Sammy, but it's just good that HTC haven't completely messed things up in the camera department this year.

I agree. Perhaps the HTC has more true to life colours but the S7 sure looks good. I'd take either in a heartbeat. But am leaning toward the 10 as I really like the all aluminium build and of course the headphone audio as I commute 4-5 hours a day.

I'm looking everywhere online and all I see is the 32GB version. Even the HTC site doesn't mention the storage when you add the phone to your basket. Is there even a 64GB one on sale?

Just use an SD card. If you want to have the SD card functioning like internal, use adoptive storage.

Sounds like people are getting their 10's delivered without any kind of shipping notification. Have topped up my Parcel Motel account and added liability in the hope I'm lucky.

I like the look of the new the HTC 10, i quite like their product i've been using htc for the last couple of years now and have no issues what so ever the only thing is the camera aint great but by the sounds of it they seem to have rectified that with the new one, hopefully the sound will still be good now that they have moved one of the front speakers

The 64Gb version is only for some markets, like the way the silver back with black face version is US only. I would have got that if they sold it here.

Three Ireland just released on their website the HTC 10 at 680 €. I was expecting something in the 780 €, is it wise to get theirs? What am I missing?

Well it's locked to 3, but other than that there's no issues. Easy enough to network unlock as well, I'm sure.

Ah dang. I assumed most phones were unlocked even the ones sold by carriers since they don't specify they're locked. I'm with Three but I don't feel comfortable with a locked phone. There are some guides online for the previous HTCs so hopefully it's the same or similar procedure.

It's possible that they aren't network locked, but I wouldn't expect 3 to go to the hassle of having exclusivity without trying to get people on their network.

Are Carphone Warehouse selling it on the 3 network? If so, they often sell the first batches unlocked...

I just want to say, after using the phone for almost a full week, that this is the best, most well considered and well put together phone I've ever used.

Forget about the best camera or other features that are all quantifiable and objective. The software and hardware experience on this phone far surpasses any other phone I can compare it to. Its just a joy to use and to carry. Well done HTC!

Hope everyone manages to get the model they are looking for... All the stress of orders will be over soon and we'll all be able to kick back and enjoy a great peice of design. Anyone sitting on the fence should just go for it... I'm honestly delighted with it... I loved my M7, but this has refined the experience to a higher level.

Well done to them for having the balls to remove so much to make the experience better. I did have reservations about the image app, but spent some time organising it and feel much better about it now. Same with the keyboard, which I was able to set up just as I wanted...

Haven't felt this way about a phone in a long time... Considering I'm such a heavy user and it's with me 100% of the time, that's such a great feeling....

What does your tracking say? Mine just says order generated last night. I notice a lot of people that had their orders generated last night had delivery today, without any kind of tracking.

I have contacted Parcel motel, but no sign.
