What does your tracking say? Mine just says order generated last night. I notice a lot of people that had their orders generated last night had delivery today, without any kind of tracking.

I have contacted Parcel motel, but no sign.

My order was also generated last night and thats as much as the tracking page says , parcel wizard site seems to be on the fritz so I'm not sure if it came in this eve.

Really impressed with this so far but it's a bit early to give any real insight.

First impressions are that it feels great as metal tends to. The screen is lovely and fingerprint scanner is great. On the down side it ran a bit hot on setup and installing all my apps. It also feels almost too thin and a bit slippery at times which I'm surprised by as its not that thin in the middle compared to other phones.

Edit: I should also add that on setup (first 30 mins) it drained battery a fair bit but I'm not worried as since then it has cooled down and battery has improved.

How's the thick chamfer / sides holding up. They are generally polished aluminium and scratch up even putting it in and out of a case ala Nexus 6p, Galaxy Note 4

They make the phone really stand out imo. I have dropped it once already believe it or not.. no damage at all but it was on a wood floor so I have no idea what way it will take more of a beating.

Also from what I read before deciding to go with the HTC, they use better materials than Huawei did for the 6p.

Yeah, I definitely think HTC's build quality and fit and finish is very good.

Interestingly I found the chamfers on the edge of the m8 held up better than the m9. My m9 had hairline scratches after a few days and that was from taking it out of the official HTC Dot View case. Then again it was highly polished and was the gold version. Just wish they would use a matt finish or no chamfer like on the iPhone 6s. The black/carbon version looks matt to me, so might consider that.

By the way, can you move apps to sd card like on the S7. I know it depends on the app and some manufacturers have not enabled this feature at all. I think it is removed from Android 6 by default.

No idea sorry. I do know that you can unify the storage so that the sd card becomes part of internal memory.

Just on the battery again. I was very concerned in the first 30/60 minutes but I'm looking at the screen on time now its showing 2 hours 16 minutes with 34% left. I'm impressed with that after starting with 70% and going down to around 55% in no time.

I am hoping that it won't be exclusive to Three forever.

    6 weeks, I believe.

I wouldn't be surprised if Vodafone never sell it, though.

My tracking info says it is currently in the UPS van and will be delivered to me today.
Although I ordered direct from HTC Ireland, it was shipped from the UK yesterday.

What did you pay? €750 or €800?

You can walk into a 3 store and pay €680 right now.

I paid €750 + €21 shipping. I only ever buy SIM free as I don't want the bloatware or unlocking hassle.
Am with Vodafone and I just want to open the box, feel that beautiful phone in my hands, stick my SIM into it and go.

I just got mine from Three! I'll try it at lunch break. I'm replacing my old M7.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,777 ✭✭✭sentient_6

Whats stopping anyone buying it directly from 3 but getting it unlocked and flashing the unbloated version which can surely be got on xda? Would 3 sell it without giving them any details?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,443 ✭✭✭✭Seve OB

they had one on display with a big sticker on it and locked down in basically a cage! couldn't even pick the damn thing up. or even see much of it

    10/05/2016 21:20 Order Generated

    What order did yours go?

I was tweeting a girl in NI, hers is exactly the same as mine. We both ordered on 13/4.

They're tellin me in the 3 shop in Portlaoise that "it hasn't been launched yet and we're awaiting stock". Absolutely nothing in car phone warehouse either. Not even a display model.

Just got off a live chat with them, they say it was delivered to parcel wizard but wouldn't give me a signature.

Given there notorious record the delivery driver could have signed for it himself and chucked it into parcel wizards recycling bin as it hasn't popped up as received on the Parcel Wizard website.

Edit: Parcel wizard have it and I should get it tomorrow :)

    I don't want a three phone.

Is there any promotional code available for buying direct from HTC?

HTC10 did give 10% off on the HTC UK site but not sure if its still valid. It was case sensitive if I remember correctly.

Nice. Strange that mine essentially hasn't changed at all. I tried Hermes live chat, but they basically wouldn't tell me anything.

I'm assuming it's still over in England somewhere, hopefully makes it to PM for tomorrow, then I guess I'll get it Saturday if I'm lucky.

UPS just called....... am going to be so busy for the next few hours. Better put my phone to voicemail and out of office on my email!

Currently restoring my apps and data from Google.
First thing I noticed when opening the box is that there is only a 2-Pin plug. Emailed and tweeted HTC before proceeding.
Phone is silver as ordered but the silver phone has a white front. That was unexpected.
It feels very much the same as my M8 when holding it. New keyboard layout is very nice. I will definitely be downloading one of the HTC Themes.
The power button at the side will take a bit of getting used to. That and the volume buttons protrude a lot more than on the M8.
After 30mins of setup so far, the phone is a little warm, certainly not as warm as my M8 gets.
The battery has gone down 8% during the first 30mins of setup and I have another 70 apps to install.
Screen is excellent and seems to have less reflection than the M8.

Will be finishing setup and doing a reboot, then will start using it properly to test out battery life and responsiveness.

Went to my local 3 store, same craic couldn't move it and with the added bonus that it wasn't even set up so you couldn't even have a play around and see what the software is like. Might aswell not have had the phone there at all, f*ck sake!

Have the phone since yesterday impressed so far. Haven't went near Camara yet probably over the weekend. There is such a zip compared to how everything moves and works beautiful screen as well side by side to the m9 and m8.

Rooting it took bit longer than usual but got there. I've read there's a few issues with people losing there signal after flashing certain things something to do with encryption.
Just have to be careful for now.
