    Yayy! Congratulations!!!

Not tonight, obviously - you'll have other things on your mind, I'm assuming - but some time I'd love to hear a brief rundown of the day and how it all went - it sounded like such a lovely romantic plan - well done you :)

    Deal !

Ok so here goes , my version is a bit of a blur from all the nerves, excitement and Guinness!

So im going to Copy and paste [my fiance]'s version from her perspective, this is a message she sent her mam which she has given me permission to share!!

    I'm [OP]
[Son] is our son (had to amend the details on the opening post a tad incase she read it)

    [Fiance]:

He knows me so well. I wouldn't be in to it being somewhere public or somewhere grand. It was perfect and really shows how well he knows me. He brought me to Iveagh Gardens. I'd never been there before. We had spent a gorgeous morning getting my nails done while he had a pint, then afternoon tea which was gorgeous. We then pottered around and popped in to the clarence hotel in Temple Bar for a drink. At this stage I knew we were going to have a wander in Iveagh Gardens and he mentioned was there a closing time. I checked and they closed at 6pm. It was currently 5.10. I said ah we can go another day when [son] is with us. He said ah no let's go as it'll break up the day and keep us out of the pub for an hour plus it had been raining and was finally dry and mild. He said there was apparently a statue there of a famous poet (he knows I love poetry/literature) so I was game ball. We hopped in a taxi to save time and I couldn't get over how adorable the park was. And it's right in the city centre. We walked around and it was one of the most romantic things we've ever done. We just strolled around talking about everything. The future, the last year and all the bad news, [son]. He kept telling me how great of a mother I am and just how much he loved me. Typically [OP] with a few drinks so I just enjoyed it and felt very special. It was 5.50 and we got back to the entrance and I went to leave and he said ah will we do another lap, we may as well. I thought nothing of it so we did. Another walk and in to this maze. Giggling and laughing and just being silly really. The park is so pretty. We made a wish at the water fountain (which was turned off, much to his annoyance) and again he cracked a few jokes and told me how much he loved me. At this point I actually said how happy this little wander around the park had made me. It made me feel so calm. Forget about my anxiety. Forget about the worries. It felt like one of those first few dates where you realize you've met someone special. Again we got back to the entrance and by this point the park warden was walking around ringing his bell to signal the park closing. It actually added to the scene and was lovely. I said lets go and he said "one sec, let's check on our wishes" and started walking back to the fountain. I laughed and it just felt like giddiness after a few glasses of wine. We got there and chatted for a few mins. I saw a robin and mentioned that it was my nanny saying hello. I always associate them with her. He talked about the difficult few months we've all had. All the bad news and grief. He said there is always a silver lining and I deserved the happiest future ever. Then he hugged me and said "so [fiance]" at which point I realized what was happen and nearly fainted. I said "omg, [OP] is this???" And he said "ssssh don't talk, don't laugh, let me say it". I was shaking at this stage. He got down on one knee and said I love you more than anything and I wanted to know will you marry me. I of course said yes and burst in to tears. He said I know how important it is for you to have your dad at your wedding. The park warden took photos of us and congratulated us. He was so lovely. It was a total surprise and genuinely couldn't have been more perfect. I'm on cloud 9!

Gorgeous story, Jeremy007, but I have removed the personal information from it. Trust me when I say you want to limit the amount of identifying information you post online, especially the names of your whole family :).

    Congratulations!
