The rule would be for underage county teams and if the son is going to trials with that county team then it rules out the father been part of the management. All panel members can then be dealt with equally. Is that not a fairer solution to everyone else on the panel?

You know who would train a development squad at U12 if this rule am in?
nobody it's hard enough to get coaches as it is

Waterford 0-11 Tipp 1-06 at HT. Tipp started better and had a goal in the first few minutes but the lads have done well to get back into it.

Great result for the Minors - well done to all involved

We are consistently competitive at minor level now - looking at the poor results we were getting at this level not so long ago it is great to see

Is there a draw for the semis after the Tipperary vs Clare playoff or does it go by repeat pairings

If Tipperary win the semis will be Tipperary vs Cork and Limerick vs Waterford

If Clare win - Cork vs Limerick and Clare vs Waterford

The losing Munster finalists will play the Ulster champs in the all Ireland qfs AFAIK. Losing Leinster finalists will play Galway

Limerick or Clare next so, A win would see us hurling into the summer, here's hoping.

Great win today against a skillful tipperary team. Murray motm outstanding scoring contribution. Jack prender, ruddle and Nolan (what a save) excelled. Montgomery with a goal and a memorable point which he managed to stay on his feet after being poll axed and still put it over. Team looked very well set up to me and that's where the second chance comes into play in suppose. Tipperary will have that next week and should progress tho you wouldn't know in ennis.

The question is if limerick next, where is that game gonna be on?

Limerick I suppose. Think they bottled it last year, well within their rights to object to Limericks home advantage but they should have either got home advantage or let Limerick have it. Deferring home advantage for another two years was not in the best interests of Waterford hurling.

I think all semi finals of minor and under 21in Munster should be neutral venues.

Limerick vs Waterford should be played in thurles

Cork vs Clare/Tipperary should be played in Limerick

Must say I was glad to see a certain minor turn in a fine display today. There was a fair few questioning the role he had been given in the team. In some ways I can understand where they were coming from in that when you play poorly and have a relation involved in the management, especially your father, the accusation is one that people will almost always level. I'm glad that he was able to prove his worth to the team and that he is more than deserving of his place in this team. Hopefully we can move on from that now and this team can gather themselves again and bring the same level of hunger and workrate to their Munster semi final, whoever they face.

Looking forward to next weeks league final, I think both teams will go for this title. Given that there is a 5 week break between the games I think that allows for sufficient time to tweak things for the losing side either way. The individual match ups will be interesting. Colm Galvin did a lot of damage against Kilkenny dropping deep, both in score taking and providing for his team mates.
I couldn't envisage a scenario whereby Coughlan will be left isolated on the edge of the square with Conlon, as Kilkenny did with Holden.

There's a part of me wonders, and I mean no insult to the Clare lads in this, did Cody abandon their "defensive" tactics intentionally? I don't think KK would leave Holden in such a situation in a championship game. Their midfielders didn't provide the cover that KK midfielders nowmally do. I can't help but wonder did he want to feed into what Loughnane had been saying, build Clare up, take the attention off themselves and put a huge target on Clares back if they were to meet again later in the year. As impressive as Clare were, I think KK made a lot of the problems for themselves. I think Murphy in goals in particularly wouldn't be happy with 3 of the goals. Part of this is down to the style Clare played at times though in hitting Conlon direct of course. With everyone back, Kelly in full flight and McInerney back in defence it will undoubtedly boost them further however.
Is there any word on whether McInerney will be available for the league final?

From a Waterford point of view, it will be interesting to see who would lose out if Maurice is declared fit for the final. Brick showed his importance when his back was to the wall once again in the semi. Dillons workrate is huge, as is Dunford who offers a bit more of a scoring threat than Dillon. But they would seem the most likely two if Maurice is to get back in.

heard that kilkenny only trained 2 times after the Offaly game leading to the Clare game. If thats true are Clare as good as there made out to be ???.

whoever wins next sunday will be adding more pressure and expectation onto themselves goin into the championship. Sure we beat Cork last year in both the league final and the championship but that was a below par Cork team, this Clare team are nowhere near below par and if they lose next sunday they will come back like very detirmined for June 5th (same if we lose next sunday).

would not suprise me if its a 3 game saga. Waterford win the League final, June 5th is a draw and Clare win the replay on June 12th

Fully agree re the minors. He certainly quietened alot of people yesterday including myself by turning in a master class display and I will take my hat off to him,he shut us up in style. I'll be honest I didn't see that performance in him but some of his scores were unbelievable. Congrats to him and the team it was a fantastic all round display and Nolan's save was worth the entrance fee alone.Montgomery is one I liked also, himself and Jack Prendergast showed what we know they have got potentially and no better way to do it than by deservingly beating Tipp and hopefully gaining the confidence to go a step further in this championship. But there can only be one MOM, step forward Eoghan Murray,in a week where he was under severe pressure to perform by god he did it in bucket loads and again I apologise to him as he more than proved me wrong. Anytime you can beat Tipp in the championship it's a great achievement so congrats to players and mentors on a job well done.

It's hard to believe Cappoquun left these lads go, although they were so out of their depth last year it might make no difference

Big loss to Cappoquin but it seems there was a complete breakdown in communications which was a shame for all parties involved.

Is Shane Bennett after hurting his knee?

Courtylad posts are a bit like Brickeyvalleys...

Anyone predicting Brickeys as dark horses for a county senior football final must be Brickeys! :)

Lads what's the story with the terrace? GAA website says it's unlikely to open.

In all my times in Semple I've never been in the stands. Will the places selling tickets issue seats that are beside each other? Just want to make sure I can sit with my friend. I assume we'd be seated in amongst the Waterford supporters too?

I think it's unassigned seating for the league final (was last year)

Seats are not allocated for Sunday first come first served.

U have to pick which stand u want

Terrace wasn't open last year for the final so doubt it will be Sunday

Clare bringing a huge crowd apparently.

Clare going for the first title since 1978 and Waterford going for there first back to back titles, the makings of a classic

Would I be correct in saying that waterford have never won back to back titles in anything??
    (Ignoring crystal cup)

Never won anything worthwhile back to back

When we won Munster in 2002 and 2010 we were beaten in the finals the year after (2003 and 2011)

This is the first time we got to back to back league finals. Last league final defeat was against Galway in 2004
