One that can push his career further. A good coach will get the most from a good player. The current one is not helping. Mig was a good keeper but has not evolved since joining. If you were a young keeper, I bet you would look at the staff to support you and not just the manager.

The trickiest business this summer is not only finding the requisite quality up front, but convincing them to come and fitting them into the squad.

Any ould duffer will do in goal. They'd have to be seriously ****e not to be a big improvement on Mignolet.

£10-15m on a new keeper and moving Skrtel on will probably be worth 8-10 fewer conceded and 6-9 more points.

The only issue is if Sakho gets a lengthy ban. Then we may well need to look at another CB. They don't need to be a world beater either though.
Once everyone's competent Klopp and the rest of the training staff will have the biggest impact on how good our defence is and only top teams will be of major concern to them in any given game.

Good article on the Sakho situation. He was overweight at the start of the season.

All Rodgers fault then for dropping him for being a bit of a fatty.

He gave Sakho a complex about his weight.

No. I refuse to be magnanimous in defeat.

For 26 God damn years I've been waiting.

When Leeds won it in 92 I could take it. I could take it. I mean it was only 2 years since we won it last and we had Souness as manager which helped explain our league performance.

Then United happened. Started expanding Old Trafford, commercialisation, getting ahead of the game in the money market. They had Ferguson bullying referees. They were breaking Briitish transfer records with their signings in the 90's.
So yeah I could write off United winning stuff.

Jack Walker bought the league for Blackburn. I could take that. Especially since it was Kenny winning it and winning it at Anfield and stop United from winning it.

Arsenal I could take winning the league. Everyone said Wenger worked with in budgets. No he didn't. He inherited the best back line and goalkeeper in the country, Denis Bergkamp and Ray Parlour in midfield.

He made a killing on Nicolas Anelka and that was it. All his other purchases in todays market would be considered relatively expensive. So I could take Arsenal winning the league cos Wenger inherited 6-7 great players and just had to add to it.

Since that back line and goal keeper retired Wenger has not been able to find 5 players that could play consistently well like that defence hence Arsenal not winning the league since 2004.

Then Chelsea came along with their money. How could we compete? They won a lot of crap by spending a lot of money. Fine. Win sxxt that way, I accept I can't compete. Give yourself a clap on the back you plastic flag waving fans. I'll have the moral high ground.

Then City came along with their money and started doing a Chelsea. Again, fine. We can't compete. Lets hold the moral high ground.

Then we nearly did. Nearly did it. WHY OH WHY WAS BRENDAN RODGERS NOT AS EVIL AS SIMEONE AND THROW THE SECOND BALL ON THE FIELD AFTER GERRARD SLIPPED. Looking back at what Simeone did now the man is an evil genius.

And now Leicester. United floundering, Arsenal being their usual selves for the last 12 years, City and Chelsea at sea and look at us, LOOK AT US!!! The writing was on the wall the last day of the season when we got hammered by Stoke but instead of firing the manager we fire his back room staff, HIS BACK ROOM STAFF!! WHERE IN THE HISTORY OF THE PREMIER LEAGUE HAS A MANAGER GOT AWAY WITH SXXT PERFORMANCES BY ALLOWING HIS BACK ROOM STAFF TO GET FIRED!!! Then we let him spend 32 million on Christian Benteke and start the new season off the way we finished the season before!! It was like we had Bertie Ahern as manager.

Madness, absolutely madness.

So no, I'm not okay with Leicester winning the league with a team that nearly got relegated last season with a manager who got fired after being beaten by the Faroe Islands.

Leicester will fade away like Leeds United after this. They'll get knocked out of the CL early. Will struggle in the league and Europe because of their squad size. Ranieri wil get fired when their stuck around 17th. The owner will start throwing bad money after bad money trying to recreate the glory of this season and Leicester will find themselves financially screwed.

This was the chance, this was the chance more than 2014! Now City have hired Pep and will give him a sxxt load of money. United are going to hire Mourinho and give him a sxxt load of money. Chelsea have hired Conte and will give him a sxxt load of money.

We need to give Klopp and even bigger sxxt load of money.

That's my Monday rant over with. I need to get coffee.

Good post to be fair, solid rant for a Monday morning.

I am genuinely delighted at the prospect of Leicester winning it, and would much rather them at this stage than Spurs. But either way, we should all take hope from this season. Getting to 80 points over 38 games is something that we control, no - one else does. You reach that point, you'll be in the mix. My attitude is if Leicester can do it, why can't we?

Moreover, We've been playing good football the last few weeks along with securing big wins in Europe over two legs for the first time since Benitez was in charge. The loss of Can, Oirigi and Sakho may sink us against Vilarreal unfortunately - but bottom line is there is plenty of cause for optimism. And if you are a sports fan and can't kick back and enjoy the unbridled madness and loveability of Leicester this year I say be gone your cold heart.

Villarreal may be out of form, but they got this far and they have been up there in the Spanish League over the entirety of the season. We've just lost a lot of momentum over the past few days so it's really hard to know what will happen. We have every reason to be hopeful, don't get me wrong - but it will be very difficult.

Whenever I'm feeling as pessimistic as that about a European cup tie (happens every time we actually have one) I just close my eyes and remember:

Djimi Traore, Champions League winner.

Anything is possible at this club. I feel like he isn't mentioned enough here anymore.
