    Delighted with Ashton's stupidity

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,997 ✭✭✭✭bilston

I'd agree with Poite there. Yeah sure it's technically a red perhaps but I think a yellow here is more within the spirit of the laws
    Add your reply here.
He kicked him in the head IBF. We are either serious about cutting down head injuries or not. A kick to the head is a sure way to cause a head injury. In this instance it wasn't the worst kick but I reckon some spotty 14 year old is watching this somewhere thinking he might get away with a kick to the head next he is playing.

Obviously you haven't seen much of Sarries this season, they've been playing very good rugby

I'll take your word for that so, I have only really seen them in the European Cup and they have played like this this for the most part, now if they are ripping it up in the Premiership fair enough.

Itoje a good choice for MOTM. God I wish he was Irish

They scored 26 tries in the pool matches! Which games are you talking about?!

One of the worst days in the history of rugby as far as I am concerned. We can only hope that either Leicester or Racing can save the sport.

Yes 14 of which coming from playing Oyonnax, might as well be an Italian team in the group and the rest of the try's are mostly from the forwards.

I'd prefer Leicester myself. Can't see it happening though.

They hammered the other sides as well (Ulster and Toulouse). They absolutely aren't boring teams to death. It's just a cheap throwaway comment without basis in the reality of what has been happening on the pitch this season.

    They are the antichrist ibf.

I don't doubt that they are the anti-BOD but noone should be mistaken as to their strengths. It's too much of a stereotype to accuse English teams of being boring when in reality they're the ones playing the rugby at the moment.

I'm hoping Leicester will win it because I've always had a soft spot for the Tigers but I'd imagine Sarries will be favourites now

He's afraid of them, Ulster have been walloped by them over and over again.

And it won't be "Dan Carter's" Racing 92 based on today's performance. I hate to say it but Saracens are looking like champion material. :(

Saracens vs Leicester in the final by my reckoning.

After today, unlikeable Saracens are on their way and if Leicester can dispose of Racing 92 tomorrow, they are certain to prevail. At least Wasps were punished for beating "Thomas Waldrom's" Exeter Chiefs in the quarter finals. :D

These are not the champions you are looking for

Schalk Brits was terrific again today. Never really featured much for SA, has he?

I think he fell into the same bracket as Stander as not being big enough, and got better when playing out of SA. Having BDP ahead of him wouldn't have helped either I'd imagine. I could be very wrong though

Did anyone see the segment on Ray Darcy's TV show with the 4 young lads from Castletroy who developed a reader inside a scrum cap that sends signals back to the bench on head injuries and if a player has suffered a concussion?
Only saw 2 mins of it today, but surely they must be onto a bit of a winner, esp in underage rugby

^ I find it hard to believe that world class scientists in world class labs looking into concussion haven't come up with that and if they haven't there must be a reason.

With concussion, everybody is different. I assume it's an accelerometer which is set to a particular threshold and will warn when it reaches it. It's a pretty blunt instrument if you'll excuse the pun. ;)

Mmm... you'd have to work out the force at which concussion is caused, I'd assume.... and as you say that's going to be different for different people, plus the fact that you don't have to get a bang to the head to get concussion. Would it measure impacts to other parts of the body that could cause concussion?

I suppose to be super safe at underage level you could set a level that can't be surpassed and anyone who gets to it is imidiately taken off. Would mean everyone wearing scrum caps though.

Brits had a chance to play for boks regularly but was overlooked, stander wasn't good enough and still isn't good enough to get past the flankers in SA.

I think we'll see him get by some of the SA flankers during the summer, don't worry on that score ;)

Don't think so,instead of poaching players and coaches maybe u should try develop ur own?stander had no chance in SA but a bright future in Ireland

    That's original.

You may not have realised but we actually develop the vast majority of our rugby players ourselves. But given that you guys have 10 times the population that we have it should be expected that we have a few more foreign players playing for us than you do.

Of course based on your opinion above I'm sure you're demanding that The Beast never play for SA again? And have huge issues with NZ who had as many foreign players in their RWC squad as Ireland did. And an even bigger problem with Australia who in fact had more.

EDIT: It should be noted that Irelands first choice XV right now has just 1 foreign player in it; Jared Payne. Exactly the same number as SAs first choice XV.
