Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That's good news to hear! Means those of us who are waiting for the call might be in with a good chance. :)

Yea definitely as I haven't done anything since the assessment centre which was a year and a half ago!

I got a letter yesterday "further to previous correspondence,I can confirm your application is now being processed through the remaining stages of the selection process. Please be aware the online learning will now run parallel with vetting, medical, PCA and SMT.....although your application is being processed there is now gaurentee that you will be made an offer of training prior to the closing date of this campaign."

I'd say I'm in the very bottom of the pile although does give a little glimmer of hope after all this time!

very very late but as said, this can only be a good sign for yourself and also any others still waiting on 1405.

I got the same "can't be guaranteed you will receive an offer" on my letter months ago.

That's why even after passing everything I was still pessimistic on my chances of a call.

    Anyway huge congrats! :D

Well you should be grand if I'm only getting the letter now, :) I thought there would have been a few more people on here that got it but haven't heard anything. When you got the letter did it takes a while for things to start moving? Really doesn't make sense money wise aswell to put people through all these loops to say nahh were closing the campaign.

Those of us that got that letter at the end of September, we got a pca date and vetting forms within a week. Also, access to your online learning will come shortly too. :)

    Congrats buddy :D

better memory than me. I just remember being in a state of panic for about 6 straight months :)

edit: which has now turned into a state of fear. lol

Ok that makes me excited! Thank you!

From what I remember, there's six weeks to complete online learning. And mine closed early december, which means it opened approx three weeks after the letter.

I'm no sayings its gonna be the same for you, but they may just speed things up. It's a handy time frame though.

Im also on this campaign and things have been moving very fast since my application re-opened. Ive done my medical this week and received the letter saying I passed. I was wondering if anyone who has previously got in recently would know when I would be likely to start (If all is well and if I get offered a position of course), or is it just a guessing game at the moment? I am planning to go to the Euro's in France in June, so Im hoping it doesnt clash with it or I will have to part with hundreds of £££

It seems like a few people on here are in the same boat.
I'm due to start GV in may. Our induction weekend is soon, after getting the call last week.

If you are in the lineup for the next intake, and there is no reason why you shouldn't be, calls would go out in approx 4 weeks from today. Induction approx 2-3 weeks after that and GV start possibly four weeks after that. I'm sorry I can't be more specific with dates, but it's a public forum and you know the score.

It's up to you, but personally, I wouldn't cancel just yet.

Medical on Tuesday, pass letter received yesterday

2-3 weeks after the initial call for induction weekend isn't a great deal of time. I'm assuming some people like myself will work shifts and not a monday- Friday 9-5 job, which would make this time frame a bit difficult given a one month notice period is required by the majority of employers. This worries me slightly.

I'm just thinking out loud here peeps, not necessarily complaining. I'm still in the waiting room and may not even get get a call, I'm just trying to look at things from all angles.

Hmm. I know what you mean, but I was lucky enough to know my employers well enough to be able to tell them I was applying. If it came to the bit. Would you not be able to claim holiday days as the sat and Sunday are 8.30 to 5? I know you're coming from overseas, you see the extreme side of the timing. I'm at the opposite end and think that 6 weeks notice is too long. But that's me with no children and a permanent job that can be dropped at a weeks notice, not a month.

I wish it was that easy Delilahbeau. Any holidays need to be requested 8 weeks I'm advance, and that's even if there are available slots to take.

I'm more than confident you will get sorted when the time comes. Could you go really really rebel and pretend you had a dodgy curry or something?

Whataboutye, I hope you're getting yours today too.

The squad on the boards is almost ten deep at this point. That has to be a bit of a record. We'll have some Craic at the weekend.

Got my online learning for 1405 opens Friday and sent off my vetting on Monday, I'd say anyone waiting on a call must have a fair enough chance if I'm being being progressed especially with the length of time vetting and online learning take!

You'll retract that statement once you've met me lol

Long time reader, first time poster...It's been a long wait to here from AC in 1405..its a complete head messing experience!!

Honestly though my shot was blown but all of a sudden, got a progression letter, email to online access and vetting in the post...all moves so quick all of a sudden. Just so anxious to get the online completed now, Ive sent vetting forms away but just know that there will be another twist in the tale.....

I have made it this far, hoping now i don't lie in limbo for so long, that my application expires or something worse!!!

Anyone hazard a guess as to how long it will take to get through the remaining stages.

The 1509 campaign looks to be moving quick!

  • Registered Users Posts: 201 ✭✭Psni26

Hey it's good to see someone in the same position as me! Isn't it so weird everything is happening at once, someone on here did say it doesn't matter when you finish the online learning as long as it's before the deadline. I really hope like you say we're not being put through all this for nothing!
