No bearings or oil seals. Just plain old metal on metal relying on grease. Their is a lad on one of the NC forms that machined a grease nipple gizmo but perhaps it's not worth the effort. I will smoothen out the pin and grease it up. I have long life grease from lidl. I'll give that a blast. Before it seized up it progressively got stiffer and stiffer over a number of weeks. If this happens again I'll remove the and clean and regrease.

I wonder if you could slip an o-ring over the pin, one at each end? it might help keep crap out and grease in?

Not unless I bore a groove around each end and then fit an O-Ring. Nice idea. I would be a little worried that would weaken the structure though.

This is the pin before I removed it.

How big is that hole in the pin?
Threaded bar might have been able to pull that through with a suitable stack of flats on the side with the tab.
On the side you pull through use a stack of heavy washers smaller in dia than the hole in the stand.
wind it up as tight as you can and spray ATF on the joint.
Leave it overnight and you can often come back and find its loose.
Repeat and you will get it out.
Heat helps too, as you found out.
    Bad design really though.

    Supersprox sprocket fitted today.:)

    Not happy with ProBolt.
2 titanium nuts with no thread insert machined into them.

They better send me out replacements for free or give me my money back.

    Nice, are you a mechanic?

    Nice, are you a mechanic?

I wouldnt say that, more of a tinkerer of motor parts.:pac::D lol

That R1 gets most of the work done on it by a highly rated mechanic and tuning shop.;)

This is what ProBolt think passes for a titanium sprocket nut.

    Not impressed at all.

2 of them out of a packet of 6 like this.:mad:

That Black AFAM sprocket only has a mere 2 kilometers on it.2 kilometers of a ride home from DLM.
It will fit R1/R6/FZ1 and also some Kawasaki's too.
Black hardened steel so will last a good long time. Its a 530 pitch 47 tooth sprocket.:)

Anyone wants it then they can have it for 40 euro.....boards discount.;):)

That would be a locking nut if there was a thread to lock against:pac:
Doesn't inspire much faith in their QC if they can't even spot threads not been cut.

Decided to fit the Denali Soundbomb Mini in between the 2 BSB races on TV today.
Its a bit bigger than the oem R1 horn.
But its a bit louder too,deeper/lower tone.:)

You need to run additional power to the Denali, or does it run off the stock loom? Bikes looking great as usual! :)

Its a 12 electromagnetic horn, its a plug n play replacement.Just had to put a small angle/bend into the oem horn bracket for the Denali to fit.
    Thanks btw.:)

Thats some scary stuff right there.
Bling is fine but when it interferes with safety then I am afraid I'll take the extra weight over a locked up sprocket.

Called ProBolt this morning, told them about the nuts.

Offered me an exchange or a full refund.
    Took the full refund.

There is alot of carbon alright but overall looking at an earlier pic which shows the whole bike I think it looks well. Personally I wouldn't be adding any more carbon as it could take away from the original look. GIZ A SHOT MISTER

I think I might take the shields back off, they just dont sit right with me.:(

If you are in Dublin anytime soon then sure let me know, you can have a spin on it.
We can do swapsies for a spin around Dublin Airport.:)

Took them back off today, made the bike a bit too cluttered up looking, and also they are matt carbon against gloss carbon, looked out of place.

I scrubbed in a new rear tyre, then after, realised I also actually need a new front and new brake pads

Put on some bar end mirrors... then realised I didn't have a big enough spanner to remove the standard mirrors :D

Might be worth servicing the calipers while you have a wheel off. Its something I always try to do because it gives you a chance to check the pads and make sure everything's working exactly as it should be you scrub in the new tyre!
