A great charity table quiz coming up on Jan 28th in Bobby Byrne's, 8.30pm. Tables are twenty euro, and there are lots of spot prizes and finger food. It's in aid of Soweto Connection which is a Limerick-based charity set up by a few people working in UL, and they work with communities in South African townships who are affected by HIV/Aids. Small charity, no overhead and all the money goes straight out to work in the townships.

It's their ninth annual table quiz this year. It's always a good night -lots of fun original questions and a great atmosphere. Cheap night out, so it would be great if you could support it, thanks

If you're a Twitter user, there's a Twitter Account (@QuizzesLimerick) that tweets quizzes in Limerick. You might get bit of advertising from them for this quiz.

The White House have just started a Film Night on Mondays at 8pm.

This week they're screening a short documentary called 'Shed Talks', directed by Dominic Taylor. It's a "warm-hearted look at the Men's Shed Movement in Limerick and the concept of the 'shed' in general".... should be interesting and sure a free screening on a Monday night... why not?!

I've done it for a week, it's an interesting week. You get the opportunity to engage with people you might not ordinarily do on your own Twitter account.

I'd recommend it to anyone who likes to engage with people. You probably need time to be able to online a few times a day just to keep the thing alive but other than that it's not a huge task.

Went to The Vic yesterday evening around 7 and it was closed, tried ringing them and the line was gone, they might be closed down?

Ended up going to Funworld, didn't try St. Michaels because I was told that was closed down also.

This may be of interest to all you Limerick godless heathens out there :pac:

Atheist Ireland will be holding their first every information table in Limerick this Saturday (9th April) from 12-2pm. The stall will take place outside Gloria Jean's coffee shop on Thomas Street.

For those unable to attend the information stand, we will be heading for lunch afterwards at 2.30 in The George Hotel. This will be a great way to meet and chat to other atheists in Limerick. There will also be an opportunity to find out more about the work Atheist Ireland is doing to achieve a secular and more equal Ireland.

For more information check out: http://atheist.ie/events/event/atheist-ireland-information-table-limerick/ or feel free to PM me

Shout out to GetWest based at the Boat Club Poor Man's Kilkee. Great bunch of people there doing all kinds of cool activities on and off the river - kayaking, water zorbing, archery etc

    Check them out at http://www.getwest.ie/

Not associated with the company, just really enjoyed the stuff they put on for free during Riverfest.
