Your more expensive contract buys you many things such as extra free minutes to call x number of networks, addons such as cheap roaming, and a cheaper initial outlay on a phone.
It doesnt guarantee you a better quality of network connection, thats the same for all users.

Ah yeah, I fully understand that, even if I don't agree with it. As we know, tethering is against 3's terms and conditions anyway :)

I finally caved and got the edge - absolutely beautiful phone. Scared to death of dropping it seems quite easy to smash the back glass as the thread on xda shows
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/cracked-s7-edge-t3326744

probably some people are unlucky as when phones land on the edges they are more susceptible to cracks but still

Also, does anyone here have the "Fast wireless charging" option in the battery menu? Mine is lacking it for some reason. Seems a known issue with some devices - possibly exynos http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/fast-wireless-charging-longer-option-t3349378

    no option for me

hopefully that is it. The Samsung adaptive fast charger supplied with the phone doesn't work with my 2.0 wireless charger :o

to be fair the product description did say so but I can't see why. Others have said it would work so warning to all!

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wireless-Lighting-Qi-Enabled-Adaptive-Included-black-w-QC2-0-adapter/dp/B0156OD7JA

I'll have to live with slow charging for now which is fine :pac:

    cracking device!! :D

What's the fast charge like on the normal S7?

Read it was 50% in 30 minutes?

it's probably faster than that when wired but still not as fast as my oppo r7s vooc fast charge was 0-75 in 30

Thats seems like a pretty pretty decent one alright. But not glass unfortunately.

Keep an eye on this thread for existing and upcoming glass protectors. Users will give a pretty good opinion on what is worthwhile and what isn't. So far all the s7 edge glass protectors are crap, just like the s6 edge ones. I'd probably go with a film protector that curves over the edges like the one linked to above.

Yeah, I thought fast charging is a Qualcomm proprietary software thing, so only phones with a Qualcomm chip rather than Exynos chip can do it.

Yeah, I thought fast charging is a Qualcomm proprietary software thing, so only phones with a Qualcomm chip rather than Exynos chip can do it.

Each phone manufacturer has their own version of fast charging, with the Snapdragon 820 version of the S7 supporting quick charge 2 on the chipset, while the Exynos supporting Samsungs own adaptive fast charge, Opp uses VOOC charging built into the charger, and Nexus does it on the 6P by virtue of the USB Type C port being able to charge at a rate of 15w with the included charger..

Wireless fast charging is a Samsung technology based on the Qi inductive power charging standard but Samsung have modified their charger and some of their phones with new circuitry to support this technology at a higher voltage, hence the moniker 'fast wireless charging'. Nothing to do with Qualcomm. Plus only certain Samsung phones are capable of this providing you have their new fast wireless charging pad and either a Note5, S6 Edge Plus, S7 or S7 edge and are using official Samsung firmware.

Anybody with the edge have any scratches on the screen? I've 2 already one very noticeable I bought the official samsung s view cover on the second day of ownership. I'm awaiting a screen protector to arrive. Pretty disappointed with such an expensive phone it has scratched so easy the phone had been in the cover and I haven't dropped it.

Its the s view cover. The same thing happened on the s6 with the clear view cover.

Once grit gets on the cover it will then scratch the screen or at least the coating on the screen. The reason for this is grit / sand etc.. has the potential to be very hard on the Mohs scale. I believe Gorilla Glass 4 can take anything up to around level 6 so will be ok against keys and stuff.

This screen protector fits perfect on the screen and covers 100% of the screen including the egde, does require patience but its pretty easy to apply.

no bubbles at all, but it does take plenty of time to get them all out. The`re not bubbles of air, they are bubbles of water makes it easier to squeeze them out but the finishing is pretty good.

I successfully claimed directly with Samsung for the same issue on my S6 Edge using a genuine Samsung Clear View case. It took 2 weeks to sort out, but the screen was replaced and came back to me complete with their form of screen protector film to prevent it happening again. Not that I was going to use the case again. They wouldnt refund the case or do anything regards that, I ended up throwing the case in a drawer. Waste of money.

Does anyone find using the keyboard in landscape mode takes up the majority of the screen? Especially when using chrome as the address bar is at the top leaving no room for the webpage?

I would use a different keyboard tbh, one you can resize like Fleksy or SwiftKey. You can also change the dpi of the phone with little tinkering which will give you more screen real estate overall ;)

Contact Samsung Support (quicker via telephone) and they will arrange a courier for pickup to repair centre. You must have proof of purchase. However, given the length of time since this original issue, you may have to fight your corner to get a repair/replacement. Because I raised the issue 4 months into ownership last year, they were trying to push back and refuse the issue was theirs and not mine. I won out in the end, with persistence.
