Another crap day. Bitterly cold heavy showers akin to what January should be like. But hey its Ireland the country of no seasons.

In that case January "should be" like July! :)

It probably will be. Dull and 14 degrees.....oh wait that was December.

Yeah January was anything but dull here! It was very wet, windy, mild and sunny. Amazingly, January's maximum is still higher than February or March's maximums here. The last time this happened was 2013.

Maximums this year so far at Grange

    January: 15.1c
    February: 12.4c
    March: 14.2c

Yeah it looks like this "warmth" for next week I was talking 'bout looks like staying in the south-east of England where they could potentially reach 15-18c.

I hope this doesnt end up like 2013 after a very mild winter where it turned bitterly cold from March till the end of May.

Or last year, where the cold lasted till the end of September :)

the first 2 weeks of April are looking mostly cool and some brief cold plunges, plenty of showers and rain events.

Or last year, where the cold lasted till the end of September :)

    True that

My deviations of average temperature (2015 'til then)

    January: -0.8c
    February: -1.2c
    March: -0.8c
    April: -0.7c
    May: -1.7c
    June: -0.7c
    July: -1.2c
    August: -1.2c
    September: -1.9c

We don't want something like this again, do we? Especially a Spring like last year.... even though April was pleasant.

Pouring with downpours here now after a largely sunny and dry but cool start.

Saw that on the radar...shower made a bulls-eye over your "damp spot"!

Nothing here except sunshine all day long....high 11.5C and now 9.8C.

Strangely enough, there hasn't been any rainfall since yesterday morning here in West Clare, almost unparalleled sunshine for all of today and yesterday afternoon. Temps have been between 8+12c for the most part of the day.

Lovely day here too (in Dublin 16). High of 12.3c and mostly sunny all day. No showers/rain toady (or yesterday).

Friday/Saturday is looking positively sickening. Yet again the big rain and bad weather events happen on the weekend.

Met predicts a probable above average April-May-June period. For the UK of course, maybe good news for Ireland too?

Temperature. Slightly above average precipitation more probable.

Well lads, we can put away the sun cream for another two years at least:rolleyes: -

Utter drivel in the Connacht Tribune today which is firmly establishing itself as the Irish Independent of local papers.

Why they would want to publish this rubbish is beyond me when Met Eireann cant say what's happening this weekend according to the radio forecast last night, they are shooting themselves in the foot with this as some visitors will say lets go away for the holidays Salthill is going to be wet.

Although in fairness Salthill probably will be wet regardless of that dribble in the paper.

And this the same fella that last November said 'December is again drier, sunnier and warmer than average'.
We all know how that month turned out.

Fine day here in Dublin. Very low humidity at the moment. 37% at Dublin Airport and 42% here (in Dublin 16). No wonder it felt like I was on an airplane!
