155 and i would be super excited for this rematch,at 170 for so many reasons i hate this fight.

55 woulda been a relevant title eliminator where i would have given Conor a very good shot of winning,as it is on the face of it is just a bit of a freak show fight where Conor has little to no chance of winning at 170.

155 would be great, but at 170, I just see the same result again.

Fighting at 170 is stupid and pointless. He's never going to be a welterweight, he would get killed by proper 170 guys.

Why not have this at 155 which is the weight class both fighters should probably be in.

I can't figure it out, is it just purely ego driven?

    Definitely seems to be.

Kavanagh needs to give him a slap and tell him to get a grip.

That irritates me no end,the world will get to see him lose twice to Diaz and there won't be a third time,in a fight thats very winnable for him at 55.

Winner gets GSP. If Conor beats Diaz and fights GSP he'll be go down in history. He'll make millions too. No one will remember who held the interim FW belt at the time.

Then again if he loses he goes down to FW :D

Starting to look to me like Conor is looking to make as much bank in the next year or so and then maybe pull out.

Lose v Diaz, then defend his title twice at FW.
Win v Diaz, fight GSP, then lose and pull out.

    He just wants money.

Honestly that is sadly about the only thing that makes sense with this fight at 170,that he has basically accepted he isn't as great a fighter as he makes out and he is just gonna make bank a few more times.

You cant knock it,hes accomplished it all what he set out to do,become a champion (numberous times) and secure his familys future, now its all bonus money to him as I keep saying his legacy to fans wont pay him when hes retired from ages 30 odd to 80,he lives a luxury lifestyle that aint cheap for another 50 years to fund.

I definitely agree with that sentiment,i hate people knocking fighters trying to get paid. But he has made good money already he could still have made the same money with the fight at 55,nobody would have been critical of that, heck even Diaz wanted it at 55.

What if he wins ? It's only a rematch if it's at 170 at 155 it's a sorta rematch and the sherdog sh1t talkers get to sh1t talk forever
He's from the Internet generation so that stuff seems to matter to him, I agree it should be 155 but the main reason. Is because I think he'd have a better chance at 155 so maybe that's why he needs to do 170
Win lose or draw you have to admire his guts

I mean you can admire his guts or you can criticise his stupidity,or question people surrounding him.I think JK you have to credit him for bringing Conor this far and a lot of Conors confidence comes from him and how he talks him up etc.

So you have to credit JK but at the same time this same confidence that has brought them this far is also going to be their undoing.Conor is lucky to get the chance to avenge that loss right away but first and foremost you have to avenge it,make sure you don't lose it,there can be a rubber match sometime down the line at 170 if you are that desperate to prove at 170 but making this second fight at 170 while gutsy i would agree given whats at stake,I would ask where does guts end and stupidity begin.

But Kavangh has form for talking ridiculous stuff about Conor and Gunnar, lunacy stuff and it seems Conor has started to believe it,because most people know having looked at that first fight, can't see how an in shape Conor at 168 can suddenly transform over a couple months to take out a most likely bigger and in better shape Diaz its just not possible, people are saying what if,what if he wins etc. he cannot win this fight imo simply cannot hes an excellent fighter but he can't defy physics,Diaz will be too big,too long and too strong and too fit at 170 for Conor to win over 5 rounds.

If it was easy we'd all be doing it (beating people up for truck loads of money)
He will or he won't , but it will be exciting !
Yes I'd prefer to see him beat frankie at 145 then maybe Diaz at 155 then RDA but the man wants to either go down swinging or be a legend and I admire that (I'll admire it more if he wins)

    RDA not impressed.

Ironic since he didn't have his first title defence of the belt for 7 months himself. Hes been talking a lot of crap since himself and McGregor were due to fight and is clearly trying to keep himself relevant when out injured and get some attention off the back of any media that surrounds McGregor.

I don't think anybody can knock what he's achieved I think some people aren't intrigued as much by the direction he's decided to take in his career after this one loss which is understandable.

He has never defended any belt he won yet he was ambitious taking on RDA and got the all clear that in itself was mad, If you told me the night of RDA Cowboy at Christmastime that Nate Diaz who wasn't even co-main that night btw was headlining UFC200 and ahead of a FW title fight too I would recommend you get the head checked.

Fighting at 170 is complete nonsense.

On the event itself Lauzon Sanchez and Edgar Aldo are cracking fights but feel this won't be the event some people might have been anticipating. Although 200 card only coming together, UFC198 as a whole looks likely to be more impressive overall and with MMA legalized in NY this week a PPV in New York if it was MSG would clearly take the place as the marquee event of this year.

As 200 has probably sold itself yonks ago before tickets even go on sale imagine a number of fans in general have targeted this event as the one to be at; The % of Irish fans being able to get the hands on tickets for this particular event might prove tougher than previous times.

Going by the way Dana announced it on sports center it sounds like because Conor has done them massive favours taking fights after pull outs he earned his chance to redeem himself, which is probably true but for ufc 200 I can see why people are annoyed its main event,it shows how stubborn he is demanding the rematch Dana Lorenzo and Kavanagh couldnt talk him out of it.

I think either of those fights would be hiding to nothing and I'd actually fear for his health in the long term. Getting landed with by Robbie's absolute bombs for even half a round or getting taken down by GSP and fed elbows from the guard could cause serious damage.
