While the Deputy First Minister was attending the Parade in Dublin and clapping the very ones his comrades killed, his leader was showing where his affiliation lies by being up in Belfast.

Why did Gerry fail to represent his constituents at the Parade in Dublin?

Presumably you can confirm that every other TD was at the parade in Dublin today?

There was never a chance Adams or Sinn Fein would show their face today. If they're not in charge, they're not interested.

OP if you're so concerned, I'm imagine it'll please you to know that Gerry will most likely be at the march on April 24th in Dublin to commemorate the events.

McGuinness was sitting between Joan Burton and Mary Robinson in the VIP stand, quite a prominent position

I always have to laugh at the how rival commemorations are staged. It wouldn't be so bad, but they actually try to position themselves as the real Oglaigh na hEireann.

The absolute state of these wans.

The execution yard at Kilmainham might be put to good use in 2016, if you know what I mean.

    But Marty Morrissey is sound.

Maybe so too are the ones in the pic you think are "a state".

When, as at Arbour Hill, you start trying to play soldier and in so doing claiming to be the real Oglaigh na hEireann, you deserve to be ridiculed.

I love the slightly crazed look in the driver's eyes: "If I were to suddenly 'lose control', I could take out Tubs, the Martys, Blathnaid, Sean O'Rourke...oh God why was Joe Duffy too busy to turn up?!"

No one is right or wrong in this so long as it's being commerated

The hassle people went through to keep this parades alive during the 70s and 80s when the state wouldn't for fear of upsetting people...I think it's great for people to be able to Commerate it anyway they see fit (within reason)

There has always been a commemoration at the GPO on Easter sunday. The old excuse that the State has somehow failed to adequately recognise the Rising is an attempt to justify these alternative commemorations with indelible links to that organisation which considered itself Ireland's army from the late sixties to 1998.

You are aware there are commeration every Easter Sunday the length and breath of the country like??

Yes. But let the actual military (borne out of the IRB, ICA, IV) do their drills, and let these people watch them like the rest of us.
