I picked up a case from Three. This case has a cover with a slot on the inside to hold an ATM card. So, I had my card in it over the weekend and today i discovered minor scratches on the screen exactly where the chip of the card was rubbing against the glass.

Never thought that could happen. At least it never happened to my iphone 6 in a similar case,

Only very minor scratches, but still - Raging.

Bought a spigen case off their website
Case looks great and actually offers protection, few of my mates got different ones and they all look great. Worth a look

This is the one I ended up getting

I would almost feel sorry hiding that beauty under that case. But you gotta protect your investment! :P

Pretty good ratings here: https://ie.trustpilot.com/review/blueinsurance.ie and plenty of ads on tv and the cinema for them, so they are not a small operation at all.

May go for them myself too, for the peace of mind.

    CHILL is another option: https://www.chill.ie/gadget-insurance/mobile/

Seems to be a few euro cheaper too, and covers loss also.

Does anyone know the colours available for the S7 and the S7 Edge?

I wanted silver when I went to order today only to be told that all that's available is black, gold or white?

Have a few questions about the S7 (bear in mind I'm an Android newbie coming from iPhone):

    1. I installed OneDrive on my S7 to back up photos - works fine except it backs up everything including side-loaded movies. How to i configure it to only upload movies & photos that _I_ take? (Same goes for Gallery which I only want to use to view photos/movies taken on the device).

    2. I've missed a few SMS messages lately as unless I unlock and check my phone, I didn't notice I have them.
In "Lock Screen and Security > Notifications on Lock Screen", I've set Messages to on.

Also went to "Settings > Notifications > Advanced > Messages" and set the following options:

    Allow notifications: On
    Set as priority: On
    Preview in pop-ups: On
    Hide on Lock screen: Off
Hide content on lock screen: Off
    Preview message: On

Yet they don't appear on my screen. Is there anything else I need to do?

    3. When I'm playing music/podcasts using Google Play, Spotify, Podcast Addict, etc, I have to unlock the screen to perform forward, etc. Is there a way to display media controls on the Samsung S7 lock screen?

    P.

    Blue Insurance excess;

If your claim is for an electronic gadget:
    • up to the value of €400 (when new) the excess fee is €40 for any claim.
    • over the value of €401 (when new) the excess fee is €75 for any claim

Yes it's not too bad considering the value of the insured item. :) I'm just considering it myself - I'm VERY careful with my stuff, and never buy those extra warranties shops offer.

Which will likely never happen as no decent ones exist for the s6 edge yet....halo effect, peeling, attracting dust, crap sensitivity.

I think the plastic ones are best bet for now but of course bubbles :(

First day today with everything up and running and a full day in work with a lot of calls (business phone) S7
Used it for Gear VR tonight for 40 minutes and just watched a film on showbox it's been on since 6.00am and it's still showing 10 % ...very impressed with the battery

I don't get why people don't think insurance is a complete rip off.

Let's say you pay 15 euro a month for 24 months and then make a claim. When you add the excess the total cost to you is 435 euro. In 2 years the phone might barely be worth that.
