Thanks for your feedback on my first show there. I only caught up on this thread this evening. Anyone worrying about write-ups, don't! It's just a bit of fun on a message board like.

Third show up. Glad I got it done this evening as I wanted to try and tie things together for the most part. Home stretch now! Am I correct if I do a 4th show and then a PPV preview before the actual show? Or is it just 4 shows and a PPV??

You can do more shows than that if you wish as it was one per round after the evaluation thread went up, so at least 5 are possible (could say six inc rd10 itself but that usually counts for the promotion preview post if people do one) plus the PPV. Obviously you don't have to do that many.

In terms of the PPV preview if your doing one, not sure if there was a rule about if doing one affected how many shows you could do but I'd be of the opinion that once your not adding any new info it shouldn't count as an extra show. There are lots for people to read so a post like that before your PPV post would be handy as a recap of plot lines before their blowoff.

Again I like the point out you don't have to do anywhere near that many posts or a PPV preview nobody expects it

I just read your preview show there Joe and really enjoyed it. I immediately remembered your angle with Shawn Michaels & Jake Roberts last year and was reminded of how much I enjoyed reading that at the time. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the women.

I don't think mixed tags are allowed Shagnastii

Hey I just drafted there sorry about the delay. I was busy all day yesterday so couldn't get my pick sorted.

I know there is a rule about picking an intergender tag team but going by their solid history as a legit tag team (PWG World Tag Teams etc etc) I thought it'd be OK. If anyone has a problem with me making this pick I'd be fine just selecting Joey Ryan. Hope this isn't being too presumptuous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,025 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

Im fine with it. Never under stopd the rule myself

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 23,103 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

Should have just checked here before pming you but despite the fact that I was never really pro that rule I have had to point it out to someone already who changed their pick because of it so I guess it isn't fair if I don't stay consistent on it

Can we kill that rule next year? I would have drafted worlds cutest tag team a lot earlier if it was gone myself

    Kill it until it dies.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,427 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

    No problem I'll scratch LaRae.

Was just trying to get that extra bang for my buck. Wouldn't be against dropping it next year. But TBH there wouldn't be many teams that you could pick. Are there any other real intergender tag teams bar Ryan and LaRae?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,469 ✭✭✭LeeJM

Beth Phoenix and Santino, GlaMarella? Thats the only combo I could think of.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 23,103 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

I believe Carlito & Trish went one year as well and maybe one or two others who are as obscure as them for fitting the 3 months rule (although tbh I'd prefer the always picked now Lita/Trish team to that one anyway). Cesaro & Sara Del Ray would probably qualify too

Seems like most would be happy to see that rule removed next year though. Honestly If it has even crossed my mind I probably would have had it in the rule breaker round along with the stables and world champs in tags last round

I'd actually like to see the intergender tag team rules kept the same. I don't think anyone really considers them to be proper tag teams. I'd also like to see the female tag team rules tightened up. Especially when it comes to female tag teams in WWE, the pool of female wrestlers is so shallow that they often tag with and against each other a huge amount of time.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 23,103 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

I actually kinda agree about the double female rule, while maybe there aren't enough intergender teams for it to be as much of an issue (perhaps the inter-gender rule could just be removed after a certain round like the pre 70s the past 2 years). The before mentioned Lita & Trish pick for example reminds me of how I always got Misawa/Kobashi together or Nakamura & Tanahashi before this years IWGP ruling made those not possible (that said Misawa/Kobashi will be possible again next year unless there is again a set of early stips that make it not happen once more).

That said if not for all those female tag teams I doubt tbc would ever been able to create and all female roster last year or would as many people go for a female roster at all as part of their fed.

won't be me (someone else has agreed to take it over) running it next year anyway so ill leave any potential rule changes up to general consensus / next years BH :pac:

With United not on tv til 4 and the wife away I decided to seek out some matches of guys on rosters I either had never seen or hadn't watched in ten plus years. Oh the nostalgia!

It only made things more complicated for my annual roster ratings but they are almost complete. Its very close both top and bottom 0.02 between bottom two and 0.06 between first second and third. Also less than .8 between top and bottom.Average rating for 1st 7.11 and for current bottom 6.30!

So how many picks left? :)

    More feedback:

    PTH2009 -
Your preview did its job in setting up what your promotion is about and I'm looking forward to seeing Arnie as the GM in your promotion. Also keen to see how you book Sheamus. Might it be the main event scene for Sheamo since it's in Croke Park, I wonder?

    Imnothtehulk -
First off, awesome theme choice for the Orton family. Never heard that song before but it fits so well. I enjoyed the promos and it set up things great with Enzo and Cass. I liked that you put Ivan Koloff over strong too. The promo from Waylon Mercy was well written and established the personal history between him and Dusty. You could have one of the great characters on the Draft this year with him and I loved the pairing with Harper and Rowan. Luger looks a very fun babyface as well. Great stuff all round and those promos were especially impressive, I thought.

    DM_7 -
I liked how you played our trade into the storyline with Shane and Roddy and it set up the Cole/Ryback match nicely. A strong win there for Cole too. Also good to see Los Guerreros again and I liked Chavo's lie, cheat, steal tactics in the match with the eye poke. I also liked that you put Elgin over and it's good to see you pushing the young stars. Also am enjoying La Sombra and Rush who are too of my Mexican favourites. That ending - yes! Epic stuff and I'm very excited at the prospect of an Eddie vs Del Rio match which is one I've always wanted to see. This will be one of the great main events, for sure. Also on a final note I liked that you wrote it in the style of a fan reviewer. I thought that worked well. Looking forward to what Eddie does now from here.

I will read the next few shows soon.

Struggling to find the time to do any write-ups at the moment. I'll probably just write shows where possible and then set aside a few hours to do my pay per view before the deadline.

I am having problems trying to log in on the laptop still :( so I will probably be one asking to extend the deadline

I usually get a chance to write (in general, not just for the draft) during the ad breaks on T.V.

Happy to get my last picks in. Should have first show up by the weekend. Happy to get Tanaka in and
he is gonna feud with Awesome.
:) Debra as The Kings valet/manager is something I thought of early and always knew she would be my final pick.

    And some more feedback:

    Necrominus (Show 3) -
I really enjoyed that opening promo from Cena. It was made more effective by the references to Cena's charity work an then contrasting that with Hardy's drug issues. Also the t-shirt was a nice touch. I also enjoyed Kane losing his temper on hearing his name mentioned; that was cleverly done. I am a fan of Monty Brown and that combination with Tarver could be money. The swerve involving Disco was well played and I also liked the surprise at the end. This was another fun read with twists and turns that produced great pay-offs.

    beakerjoe (Preview & Show 1) -
I expect big things from you in this game and happily you didn't disappoint. In the Preview I liked how you detailed the events of the past while and how you tied it in with references to other promotions. You're using Bischoff in super fashion and bringing in the Chamber was an awesome idea to kick things off. Speaking of brilliant ideas I also really liked that Trending now section. You got over your show and your roster so well here which was what you needed to do.

The first show kicked off strong with Bischoff stating his plans and I really loved the pairing of Zeb and The Von Erichs as I like all those guys. Zeb will be a great mouthpiece there. The promos got over the importance of the main event and the Von Erichs being attacked set up a nice air of mystery. The women's match was well booked and you have a great division. I'm liking this angle with Santana and Martel and I'm already eager to see Martel be silenced. The main event was the highlight. You laid out the match great and even the build to Nakamura's appearance felt huge. I wasn't sure which way the main event would go and I loved the way you did it by putting over Cesaro, via help from his friends. Awesome final image too with Cesaro smearing Flair's blood on his belt. Super start for you here and I fully expect you will be in the mix once again. Looking forward to the next episode!

    Feedback :

    DM_7 :
having Shane right now is a very lucky coup, as its easy to visualise him so much more now that he has returned in real life, and your using him very well in the Pipers Pit segment. Hernandez in a contract kerfuffle... I wont here of it ha. Its a great way to tie in the trade with real life events, so well done. Nice to see ADAM COLE BAY-BAY pushed hard so far, as im a big fan. After the Elgin/Chavo match I noticed a real indy vs worldwide talent situation and I wonder if that intentional, esp with all the indy talent going over thus far. Im a huge Rush / La Sombra mark and im an even bigger Dalton Castle fan (hes got a fantastic gimmick) and combinaing these 3 guys is fascinating. I wanted Dalton myself so im delighted hes being used to great effect. The ending with Del Rio was a surprise I didn’t see coming and Its setting things up nicely for Ice and Fire. Him and Rusev are top talent and getting Rusev and Del Rio so late was a steal. Loved teh write ups and I look forward to more.

    Necrominus :
Great, great opening promo with Cena, you can really imagine the real John going off on one eventually in real life and you made the emotion very vivid. John is ideal in the good guy shunned over the rockstar Hardy. The Tee shirt was a nice touch. Glenn Jacobs is booked very cleverly, esp in the role which. Disco and Rose are an odd, yet fitting duo. Great use of two lower characters. Road Doggs entance was very well written and his feud with Pac/Hall is being handled well. Pac and Hall are just written to get their just desserts, pure Aholes. Youve used Boogy to great effect too and the build up to the final segment was very well done, with plenty of twists and turns, which Im a fan of reading. Your PPV is shaping up nicely Buddy, great work.

CheeseWagstaff /(yerman from the wire ):
Loving the PPV name, Im lost for words in a good way. Big Johnny and Seth could of been written in so many ways, and its a great treat to see Seth booked strongly unlike his WWE title run. Hes believable and seems more than capable of being a bad ass than he has been in real life. Great to see Iron Mike used so well, I look forward to more from him. O’Hiare was masterful in his role of riling up Mark Henry. Pedro Morlaes and Carlos Colon (or Morton and Collins ) are cleverly written and immediately brings me back to Kerwin White. Good win for Morten and a fun read in the match with Roddy strong. Buddy Rogers is nicely written and He can be a huge deal by the end of the write ups if he continues in similar fashion. Great Battle Royal and everyone looked like they had a chance to win and I was surprised at MVPs win but equally delighted with what happened after it. Seth is an early contender for best character in my view and how he goes forward with the rest of the roster is something I look forward to reading. You’re content was very enjoyable and it wasn’t too long by any means. Loved it.

Lads, teh standard is very high this year, with 14/15 guys already getting top notch write ups done. I think this will be a very VERY tight year and I think the slammies could have 20 plus clear contenders per catagory.

Cheers for all the feedback lads. I'm going to try and get some of my own up shortly but very busy with work and my voluntary stuff at the moment so haven't had much time to set aside apart from writing the shows. I will get some up as soon as I can though.

Are there many draft picks to go??? Also, is March 23rd the deadline for all write ups, or just the first show? I'm assuming the former.
