Ok wait a minute. Conor only wins because he is bigger but it doesn't matter that Diaz is three inches taller and has a two inch reach advantage and is heavier?

I said dominates, not wins...perhaps read my post again....He said himself they cant take his shots..this is why

but lets look at McGregors last few fights in the 145

Vs Brandao = 5in reach adv plus 2in height
Vs Porier = 2in reach adv plus 0in height
Vs Siver = 7in reach adv plus 2.5in height
Vs Mendes = 8in reach adv plus 3in height
Vs Aldo = 4in reach adv plus 3in height

Yeah it seems he was at his first disadvantage this time around..didnt end well for him...but hes a lightweight by nature imo and undergoes a brutal cut to make the 145..thats what makes him the bully of the division

Diaz is a 155er usually, as should be Conor..

Anyway, RDA is the same height with less reach than Mcgregor and he beat Nate.. Considering that, My point remains, Diaz is the superior fighter...if McGregor were he'd have done exactly what RDA did..but he didnt

i know, but the poster was saying it did not matter to him if it was country or the individual, he felts no compulsion to support a team or individual based on an accident of birth. To reiterate i don't particulary care for mcgregors conducts, but if he wasn't irish, i would still admire his story. Mc gregors is representing Ireland, but the problem for you and others is, you are ashamed of this, i am not. Ali was an outright prick, it doesn't detract from the fact he was a great fighter. although i've stired up another argument now because the refrain will be don't put McGregor and Ali in the same category:D, but that is not my intention. what i'm trying to convey is that you don't have to like a person, to admire his/her talent.

Saying Ali is a prick is like saying Andy Lee is a prick, or Anthony Joshua is a prick, or Carl Frampton.

There's standard arrogance "I'll knock him out" pre fight shenanigans but calling another fighter a Nazi and more is just the sign of a cock.

You might say it's all an act but it all comes a little too easy for Conor...

Diaz has some advantages but yes McGregor is most definitely a better all rounder than Diaz IMO.

Never thought I'd be extolling Conor's virtues to Gamebred of all people. Strange days!!

Conor is far and away the better and more complete fighter of the two. I'm a huge fan of both guys and have loved watching Nate fight since he first appeared on TUF 5 but Conor was easily the main architect of his own demise.

I definitely agree that if he was hunting points instead of a TKO he would have done better. It was Conor's total lack of gameplan that led to his defeat more than anything else. A calculated gameplan could have seen Conor decimate Diaz slowly over the course of 3 or four rounds and there is no doubt in my mind that if he had been patient he could have gotten the legit stoppage that he was hunting so furiously, too early on. McGregor believed too much in his own hype and just didn't give Diaz the respect that he deserved.

Where I disagree with you though is that IMO Conor remains the better all-round fighter of the two. A rematch (at any weight) would be a very different fight and very different result.

I was . I had them -8 at even money. Won 40 euro
Was delighted when Mike Brown scored.
Big fan of Italy and love Belgium. Lived there for two years. They also have a few players shoring up the defence of my beloved Spurs.
I won't be rooting for Ireland in the euros. They play horrible stuff.

Sad individual.I cant imagine how devoid my self would be if I couldn't get behind my country and head to the pub with fellow Irishmen and enjoy the ups and downs of a top competition ie the euros,6 nations rugby.

Not going to a mates house and getting behing McGregor and following the story of a man from the same city as me as he wins world championship.

The fact that you were happy when Mike brown scored and your country lost and the fact that you cleaned up with a whopping 40 euro and werehappy about it speaks volume to the person you are.

Your life must be quite sad having no passion for your country or fellow countrymens achievements on the world stage.

Leave th Ali-McGregor comparisons out of this. They are farcical. Conor doesn't believe half the nonsense he spouts. It's the most contrived nonsense. It is working for him, as it is making him big bucks.

Seeing an Irishman( I assume you are irish) berating another Irishman who is fighting on the worlds stage always puzzled me regardless if you like the man or not.

This may come as a surprise to you, but not every fan likes the cocky, brash trash talkers.

You mention Instagram so I'll use that as example to prove to you how wrong you actually are. A huge majority of people who follow him on Instagram (and twitter etc) are people who hate him. Every time they comment on his posts/pictures/tweets they are pushing his profile out there even more, thus increasing his exposure and marketability. And that is just one medium. Ever news website that runs a story on him keeps track of web traffic and will continue to post articles about the people that are getting the most ''clicks''.

You dont have to be liked to be famous, just talked about. And he is one of the most talked about sportsmen in the world today. Even this thread is promoting him every time someone in it clicks on a link to another article posted by a hater.

    Classic.

A lot of assumption and nasty insinuation there.

And not once did I insult you.
That's the problem here . You guys play the man , not the ball.

Attack the journalist, attack the poster. Attack the critic. No one wants debate.

When someone posts up winnings the amount gets ridiculed.

    Debate, seriously?

Most of the guys posting here at the moment are johnny-come-lately's with a handful of posts in the MMA forum since saturday night who plainly know nothing about the sport that we love and only came in here to troll and get a reaction because they have finally gotten their wish to see McGregor beaten.

How about not attacking the fighter? There is a rule in this forum that doesn't allow ''fighter-bashing'' and to be honest I'm surprised more bans have not been handed out.

So if you want debate, we as regular forum posters are more than happy to discuss the fight, but we as lovers of a sport wont be too happy to read and listen to ****e.

This is not aimed directly at you by the way. Just commenting on your post.

He might need all his money to fix his cauliflower ears or plastic surgery in a couple of years. He's only 27 and he's more wrinkly than my sack.

He'll probably come back and say because you're watching it on your laptop, you're getting closer to it f*cking up than if you didn't watch it and because of McGregors sponsorship with Dell you're funding McGregor through watching it because you'll need to buy a new laptop.

Many people who hate him do follow him on social media though to be fair? And I'm sure you've read articles online about him.

All these things serve towards increasing his profile and by extension his marketability.

Like it or not but even those who apparently hate him are doing just as much to increase his fame as those who love him.

I bought it on my Xbox for that price. What's the problem with that?

(It got refunded and I watched for free, but let's assume it didn't!)

I personally have a BT sports subscription but there are plenty of people that viewed it through fightpass.

You said we dont but PPV's over here. I was just pointing out that you are wrong.
