Ye it's tough to get sorted with a sim free phone. Did you get the VR set direct from Samsung?

Yes you do. And no bullsh1t terms and conditions like Three, Carphone etc. You get the phone sim free and a free VR :D

Use ParcelWizard or An Post's AddressPal for delivery.

Just a word of caution. Because they don't offer delivery to your own address in Ireland, just read the small print to ensure you have a warranty if anything goes wrong. Samsung UK may refuse to cover it as it was not 'supposed' to be sold to this market, and Samsung Ireland may not cover it because you didn't buy it in this market.

Samsung products bought within the EU have an EU covered warranty, so no issues there. The only time they wouldn't honour a warranty would be if it was imported from outside the EU i.e. Asia

Pre ordered the black S7 Edge on Samsung UK just now. Came to €810 using Revolut and PayPal checkout.

Can't wait to get my hands on it! :D

Samsung don't ship to ParcelMotel anymore, I remember trying to order a tablet last year and the address was flagged.

An Post will keep your parcel in a post office of your choice for 5 days.

Are you ordering the standard S7 or the S7 Edge Pat? :)

Not long, and you can use the card online without the physical card straight away once you register. You can use an Irish card but easier to use a UK card with PayPal, as it will get through security checks just fine, all going well. Irish cards have a tendency to get flagged.

Was just checking payment methods there on the site and it just says all major credit cards or Paypal. Nothing to do with uk only cards. But the method you went with is prob the safest

Yeah it wasn't accepting the card via their own payment system for some reason. So I just used PayPal to pay and it worked fine.

Maybe a bit early.. but anyway, cases! :D

Spigen are a brand I've always used (last Samsung phone was an S5 and Note 4).

    http://www.spigen.co.uk/cell-phone/samsung/galaxy-s7-edge.html/

I went with the Rugged Armor case for £9.99. Looks great!

Will be ordering ZAGG's 'Glass contour' tempered glass screen protector too once its released in the coming days. http://www.zagg.com/eu/en_eu/shop-by-device/galaxy-s7-accessories

    what's everyone else going for?

Its a good case. I have the Rugged Armor on my S6 Edge+. Doesn't add much bulk, and doesn't really take away from the look of the phone too much.

That said, when I take my S6 Edge+ out of the case, I can't get over how amazing it looks.

Yeah you can pay with your Irish card, I just used Revolut to get the best exchange rates as the bank card screws me on those.

Okay, some info regarding the free Gear VR.
    Info from Ars Technica

The free Gear VR offer is available with Galaxy S7 phones ordered through March 18. The device will be provided via a web form available starting on March 4.

Now, I also read the same on Amazon.it.
Pre-ordina Samsung Galaxy S7 e vivi l’esperienza della realtà virtuale
Dal 22 Febbraio al 10 Marzo 2016 pre-ordina uno smartphone della serie Samsung Galaxy S7 o S7 Edge, registrati su people.samsung.it/user/register e ricevi Samsung Gear VR. Per maggiori dettagli sulla promozione visita people.samsung.it/promozioni.

Pre-order Samsung Galaxy S7 and live the experience of virtual reality
From February 22 to March 10, 2016 pre-order a smartphone of Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, recorded on people.samsung.it/user/register and receive Samsung Gear VR series. For items sold by third-party vendors (including those shipped by Amazon), confirm with the seller if the item is eligible for the promotion. Read the settlement.

I'm getting the impression, that regardless of whether it comes with the order or not, you can register to receive it after the fact. It would be great of Samsung would just cut the bull and state this and put the nonsense to an end.

The gold does look really good, but I just can't contemplate using a gold coloured phone. Just seems wrong.

The black one looks real black, instead of really really really dark blue!

The silver/platinum looked nice as well, but doesn't look like it's readily available.

I just wish Meteor would hurry up and sort this out for Pre-Ordering.

    Android Authority have a colour comparison on of the S7 and S7 edge colour options;

The gold looks a lot more reflective in their hands on videos than in the Samsung product images. Will be sticking to black.

Anyone else have a problem with their AddressPal address being too long for Samsung's form fields? I keep getting the error "Please enter no more than 32 characters" even after I split the address onto several lines.

Does anyone know the lead time for AddressPal and Parcel Wizard. I know Parcel Motel is already out, but would like to know how long you will be waiting after they get the delivery before you can collect.

Pay by PayPal and add the address to your account in there. Should allow you to enter more characters.

Parcel Wizard have always been next-day delivery for me. Excellent service. ParcelMotel have gotten really poor lately.
