Dylan Hartley leads England out for the first time as Scotland look to kick on from that disappointing loss to Australia.

England trying to bulldoze the Scottish scrum but Scotland's scrum doesn't move and get a penalty

    Good defence from Scotland there

Ball didn't bounce too kindly for Hogg there.
Big chance for England here now.

    Moore sounds awful...worse than usual

You'd think there'd be a point of diminishing returns for advertising in one stadium, but RBS don't seem to think so.

Are DCU a sponsor of the 6 nations?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Ah hell - I thought Scotland were in there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,673 ✭✭✭✭MJohnston

When a tackler is not releasing a ball like that in a ruck, suddenly does, and then the ball squirts out..seems a little unfair

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

    Blown opportunity by Scotland

How did that ball come flying out ref?

Did anyone ever point out to you that your signature is misspelled?

Edit: Sorry not trying to be a dick, just noticed there and surprised that it wasn't spotted so far

Thanks for the help.... Not really what I was asking though.

    Bad miss really.

Exciting game. Really good tempo to it

Ford won't see out this tournament as the starting 10. He's still too underpowered for this level of intensity.

Only half an hour gone but I can't say I notice anything different about England under Jones.

    This is a ferocious game.

Jaysus lads the speed of this game

I can. He's playing their best outhalf at centre.

Frantic stuff! Scotland working very hard.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,673 ✭✭✭✭MJohnston

Typical stuff from both these teams. Scotland with plenty of spirit, little skill. England look much the same as they did in the world cup.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,071 ✭✭✭✭wp_rathead

it is all pretty blah so far from both teams...

If England continue down this path, well...to be honest Id be looking at tomorrow being a good indicator of the eventual winner

That's the second time Seymour's lost the ball in contact

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

That was great scavanging by Scotland from that scrum.

Scotland are savage at the breakdown. No lost causes fighting for everything

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Ah Hartley - you're the bloody captain for heaven's sake. You can't give the ref lip.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Come on Scotland. Need points here.

    Wasted opportunity.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

That was good defence from England. But they should really be more than just one point in the lead.

Laidlaw taking an age at every ruck there. Fast service would have broken that English defence.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,673 ✭✭✭✭MJohnston

Ah, what happens when your best kicker is a 9 I suppose.

Seems today is drop kick resurrection day!

Scotland still their own worst enemy. Leaving some very valuable points out there.

They have the intensity and the skills but just need to finish it off.

Hardie has got them going forward when they need it, he's playing great

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,755 ✭✭✭eyeball kid

Scotland really should have gotten something at the end. The drop goal attempt was worse that Parisse's earlier.

They have that South African guy working with them now, don't they? Was Springboks breakdown coach for years.

He obviously chooses to delay his pass as long as he can ..... I don't get it.

    Typical Highlanders bias :D

This is a really absorbing game to watch, you get the feeling a bad mistake could be very costly.

Laidlaw could speed up a tad, but otherwise he is controlling the game nicely for Scotland.

I agree with you syd about the earlier game, these 2 sides look structured as compared to especially France.

Enjoyed Italy and France a lot more than this.

    Really?

Structured defence seemed fairly optional for that game.

I suppose this is more one for the purists rather than the occasional fan :p

It was entertaining, but both of these two sides look much better organised than France or Italy.

Fully expect England to push on in 2nd half.

    England by 17

Clearly been working on their side entry at rucks.
