Yes that sounds completely ****. Well done. Miles in the legs and definitely won't have weather like that in Seville so it will stand to you.

    Big feckin' softy.

Totally agree all these posh hotels and Five Star Ski resorts have softened the bogger

You give any consideration about coming to Trim Sunday?

Fifa!! Looks like I'll be long hauling it with work next week so if I've to leave on Sunday from Dublin I might just fit it in.

Can a soft Bogger enter on the day?

    Would we be racing ;)

Nope, last time was one of the scariest experiences of my life. Having a Bogger Lemon chase you down and goading you over 5 miles ain't good for the heart. 10 miles is double the experience!!!

Yet it's the only t shirt you wear racing out of pride for beating the bogger.

Tuesday: took a rest day to let the head and body recover from Monday's trauma and I was bringing the young lad to Old Trafford for the Man United/Stoke game. (The less said about that the better)

Wednesday: called for a session 4k/1k alterations at PMP. My back and hip was very stiff and uncomfortable, a hundred metres into this I knew continuing was a bad idea so I binned the run altogether. Spent a fair amount of time foam rolling and stretching. Was wondering if it was all in my head and I was self sabotaging Seville!

Today: hip/back a bit better but I didn't want to chance a session so early this morning I headed up to Seanadh Pheistin and got 10 miles easy done @ 8.22. First few miles were very slow.

After driving into town the back was so bad I couldn't walk properly. Got an emergency massage at lunchtime and she said my L4 & 5 were quite inflamed and my glutes were rigid with tightness and spasms. It was very painful more like an exorcism than a massage and at one stage I sucked up the paper lining the massage table and almost choked! I was letting a string of fcuks outta me and I could probably have turned my head around 360• :)

Was told not to run tomorrow unless I see significant improvement overnight!

Not sure where this has come from, the only thing I can think of was the fall after been hit by the snowboarder. I suppose it doesn't matter the main thing is to get the inflammation down and toe the line in Seville.

Jazus your winding me up now!!

I think I'll have to make sure I'm travelling next week and even if I've to run on one leg it'd be worth it to put you back in your box. Mightn't look good in front of your girlfriends if an auld Bogger cripple hands you your ass though :)

All joking aside, look after your back C. See you'll be in esteemed company in Seville, Mick Clohissy looking at running 2.14 there for Olympic qualification.

All joking aside that could easily be from the ski fall, trim is not the goal, you can hand tang his ass another time* rest up & keep the main thing the main thing...

Haven't run since Thursday. Backs getting better, hip much better but groin still stiff/tight.

I'm waiting on confirmation later tonight but it looks like I'm long hauling it with work tomorrow for a week, not great for Seville, but I might make an appearance tomorrow and put a bit of pressure on hairy Mary!

Best of luck with it FD

glad the back is on the mend, I've no doubt tang will have something to say about your other injuries... pity about the travel though.

the prospect of a sub 90 pales in comparison to meeting the legend that is TBL, not sure I'll be able to sleep tonight :D

What are you thinking skiing a few weeks before a marathon? Jaysus. Hope the back is ok. Long haul travel is hard enough on the back too, although you're probably up the posh end of the plane at least. Look after yourself.

    Yea Murph,

The skiing doesn't look like the smartest thing I've done, but I've made my bed and all that...

Good to see you've recovered from your flu, and you're back at it, the flu was the only curve ball that didn't hit me this time!

Anyway unless I'm injured I'm going to plough on and give Seville a lash.

Sunday: found out over the weekend that I was long hauling it for the week with work. The Seville marathon project has had many nails hammered into its coffin (some self administered) and another week away with work has virtually sealed the casket!

Given that I was travelling to Dublin airport anyway I decided to take a detour and attempt the Trim 10 miler. Twas all a bit rushed and I got to the start a little harried and lacking any sort of decent warm up. I used a can of deep heat on the groin but sprayed a bit too far north and my bits looked like a luminous Christmas decoration!

Was scouting around for all the Hairy Mary's at the start to see if I could spot Tang but no joy, he was probably in a huddle somewhere getting instructions from his personal pacer :)

Never got into this race at all, was running alone for the majority of it and the wind was a bitch, never felt comfortable.

Very disappointed with the effort and time and I never felt strong. A 7 minute mile in a 10 mile race is just shocking. Met Tang and his clan at the finish also had a photo taken with NeilC, AULDBOT100 and Tang. Gave FD a shout out on the home stretch on her way to a PB as I headed off with Mrs Tang who kindly gave me a lift to my car that was parked miles away.

Think I've been deluding myself a bit lately and I'll speak to Ecoli about Seville but after today I know I'm not in great shape and might pull the plug (again!)

ah C, sorry to hear that, do you think though that a less rushed start and a proper warm up would have made a difference? rather than saying your not in shape it could just be unprepared to race? Not that I know squat about squat and you coach will obviously know better but don't write anything off - just yet.

    safe journey :)
