I think its gas when people say how long will the likes of Ozil and Sanchez etc stay, you do know they are part of the team that is playing poorly?

Plus i always say if they wanna go let them go

Our subs bench had no striker on it tonight. How is that acceptable? And Theo doesn't count despite what Wenger says. All our title winning teams had sub strikers like Wiltord or Wreh that could provide valuable contributions from the bench on nights like this. So why has Wenger moved away from this approach and become content with trying to shoehorn players into that position instead? Walcott, Sanchez, Welbeck can all play up front he says...when the reality is they're all best suited on the wing.

A goal poacher would have been a start. Maybe Austin for example who already snatched a late winner against Man United. But I'm not annoyed about that, I just really don't see why we would start Flamini ahead of Elneny (unless there's a reason). Flamini has been carried in this team for 18 months and Wenger still has faith in him.

Austin?? He scores one goal against a **** utd team and hes the answer?
I don't want players of that calibre anywhere near Arsenal

Not actually Wellbeck but an interesting post nonetheless highlighting what a disaster the last 4 weeks has been

Actually, I'm not bothering with all the waaaa waaaa waaaaa bollocks that goes on here every time we don't win a game easily.

It's called a blip, anyone who has seen more than one season of football should be aware of that.

5 points off the top, plenty of time to claw it back. Just need to get a bit of rhythm going.

Bringing in those 3 players was the best thing Wenger has done in years. But you cant expect them 3 to carry the rest. Bar Monreal, Giroud and the 3 mentioned above, the rest have performed average at best the last 18 months. Mertesacker, Ramsey, Walcott, all first team players who have consistently failed to step up to the mark. Then youve the likes of Ox, Flamini, Arteta, Rosicky, Gibbs etc on the outskirts of the team who just are not Arsenal class.

For far too long we have had a policy of bringing in potential that hasnt paid off and journey men internationals on the cheap, and adding the odd world class player. Its like ordering caviar and eating it with chipper chips.

No you're right, he only scored 18 league goals last season. We should be aiming higher.

Tbh with the clear chances we had we should have easily won. People say Forster was great, but only one of them saves was impressive, the save from Ozil in the first half from the flick on by Giroud. The rest of the chances were poorly finished. Tame and not clinical enough.

In fairness, we are where we like it best, fighting for 4th place and a CL place.

    Cheer up lads.
We got 3 points out of our last 12 and no goals in 270 plus minutes.
The only way is UP apparently.

Yeah, only a few goals more than our main striker who's gifted with chances every twenty minutes. But, seriously, I like having Giroud up front, don't mind that. But it would be handy to bring on an extra striker who has a first touch in the box when we need a goal.

Would you honestly be happy if Wenger signed him? You would on your hole,
And Walcott got 21 so whats your point

I don't even know what could be done to shake this team up and get them back on form again.

Maybe try a front 3 of Alexis, Walcott and Ramsey, with Ozil, Elneny and Coq in midfield? Seems pretty lightweight, but something has to be done differently. I'd even be giving Iwobi more game time at this stage.

I think people get a little to emotionally involved, im all for being pissed when the team is not playing well but some people go seriously ober board, give your head a wobble

We've signed 2 players in the last 2 transfer windows. Only £17m spent. And people wonder why we're struggling.

21 what? Walcott has only ever got double digits in the league once. I don't get why people are so picky with regard to the likes of Austin etc. Every squad needs players that can do a job when required, like come off the bench and offer something different. I suppose Vardy wouldn't be good enough for us either.

When did Walcott ever score 21 league goals in a season?

Too many average players been defended every week.

Ramsey is the perfect example. 6 good months then average for the rest but will never face criticism.

Seems we have accepted mediocre players. Welbeck, flamini, ox, Gibbs, theo.

Just too many. And our 3-3 against liverpool a few weeks back. I know I keep going on about it but people were praising the team after this?

Look how bad liverpool are right now and we still conceded the usual late banker goal.

Its just average and it seems to be accepted at the club nowadays.

I've definitely mellowed over the years when it comes to Arsenal fcuking it up but I can't emotionally detach myself after 30 years of supporting them. It really is a love hate relationship!

What's the harm in fans venting in here. If it helps them get over it so be it, no skin off my back.

Right, I know I say this every week, but Southampton are defo getting a shoeing tonight.

    I mean it.

Never mind anything else. Today is the day for setting down a marker. No more messing.

Straight out of the blocks, lads. No messing.

    COME ON ARSENAL!

Right so. I've had enough! You really need to stop posting your wishful wantings!!! Gone!

FFS even the spuds are ahead of us now. If we get top 4 is now a doubt?!?! Really bad night. Very frustrated!!!

Nope wouldn't have vardy either not until he does it couple of season on the bounce, you would have the squad full of even more one season wonders
Did Walcott not get 21 goals last year

Hard to be pro Wenger after tonight. Maybe he didn't get it wrong tonight and it was all down to the finishing but he has gotten it wrong too many times this season. 3 points in January won't win the title. Time for him to move on in the summer in my opinion.

No problem venting but some of it is ridiculous

    Bit harsh calling Welbeck mediocre.

Didn't see a thing from tonights match but I'm assuming it's the same old story with us not finishing chances.

Need a top class striker, defensive midfielder etc, etc, etc......

I assume our January signing didn't get a sniff tonight.

    Are you joking?
The Board are delighted with him.
    He's a money man.
He'll be wheeled out of the club in about 10 years time.
