Yes. Another 6 weeks, unless that has changed again.

I guess he will just aim for the Euros at this stage.

Don't know why we let Debuchy go. Our backup Chambers isn't really a rb, touted more as a centre half or even a central midfielder. I think we should have kept him as cover, as already been said it would be our luck that Bellerin gets injured.

I don't think it will be detrimental to our season, but it is an unnecessary weakening of the squad.
Agreed. He could also do decent job as CB cover if needed so he could have proved very important dependent on injuries.

Things weren't looking good though when he wasn't picked for the cup game against Sunderland

Yea agreed he could definitely do a job for us, but like if he was set on a move I think letting him go was the right move, don't want to have someone who's hearts not in it. Need to keep the group together and positive.

Like if we made him stay you can imagine the headline in L'equipe in the coming week, "Debuchy forced to stay" - he'd be giving another interview whinging.

I really liked him when we signed him, and if he hadn't suffered those awful injuries, i think he'd be playing. So best of luck to him, but doubt we need him in an Arsenal jersey again

I'm sick of hearing pundits saying we'll never have a better chance of taking the league this season but the fact is they're probably right.

We're going to need the gods to look down on us favourably if we are to avoid major injuries. One injury away from chambers starting at RB and more worryingly if Giroud gets injured where do the goals come from?

With the January window behind us it gets interesting from here on in. 3 points tonight please and being greedy I'd like to smash them back for the last game!

Debuchy was very impressive when played at CB. He jumped well, attacked the ball and commanded the area. Was not up the pace of the EPL when used of late at RB though. You only get that with games. I think he was right to leave to persue his French place but were we right to let him go?

There are times when loans can be cancelled mid season isn't there? Could we recall him if Bellerin was to get (heaven's forbid) an injury?

Very good question. Hopefully it's a Yes and if we have to do it he'll be fitter with the games under his belt. Could be a good plan by Wenger.

Probably not. Debuchy would have to have been left on the registered player list or a space for the possibility for recall. I'd imagine we have a full 25 men registered for the Premiership already.

not very fair on the player either to have him move from country to country at a moment's notice

The league winner's medal will soften the blow.

Right, I know I say this every week, but Southampton are defo getting a shoeing tonight.

    I mean it.

Never mind anything else. Today is the day for setting down a marker. No more messing.

Straight out of the blocks, lads. No messing.

    COME ON ARSENAL!

Yep, I'm sure they want revenge.

My biggest concern is whether the dodgy stream gods are on my side tonight.

Arsenal: Cech, Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal, Flamini, Ramsey, Ozil, Alexis, Campbell, Giroud

Subs: Ospina, Gibbs, Chambers, Mertesacker, Coquelin, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott

Elneny not even in the squad....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,382 ✭✭✭✭greendom

Flamini starts. Coquelin on the bench, as is Walcott. No place in the squad for Eleney

You'd have to think Theo wouldn't be in the best form this evening.

Interestingly it's his own bad form that's resulted in him being in bad form, if you know what I mean.

The only forward options we have on the bench are woefully out of form...but we didn't need to sign anyone.

Would have liked to have seen Coq in instead of Flamini but he's obviously not fully match-fit as yet.
Would have Gab and Kos switch sides too in the center of defence. I think it would suit Gab better.
Delighted that Wenger sees Campbell as a better option than Ox or Walcott at the minute as both are lacking in confidence.

    Come on you Gunners.

Should be enough, we have what, 9/11 of our strongest team starting?

Poxy Flamini! Thought Coquelin would start :(

Be good to have their pace to come on against a hopefully tiring defence.

Delighted Campbell gets the nod ahead of Walcott. Offers so much more to the team.

Get through tonight and have coq starting at the weekend

Not feeling overly confident about this one we seem to struggle against Southampton in recent years. On the plus side, Ozil and Alexis starting together again.

Is it true that Rosicky is injured again?

    Another 6 to 8 weeks.

Long John Silver will be fit to play before him.

    Where the fook is Elneny?

    Time is kick off ?

Up and at them from the start.
No sitting back and waiting to see what happens. That only allows them to settle into the game.
3 points is a necessity. Anything less is no good.

Him and Mert not in squad for some reason only known to Wenger.
