My sister is homosexual, she's highly strung at times but I think that's more down to her personality than anything.

My favourite gay man has to be the journalist Milo Yiannopoulos, the guy is just amazing, you have to go hear him speak.

Am I right in reading OP right.

A man is gay if he likes female company

    Double edged sword then.

Sort of get what the op is saying
But I reckon it's more to do with been in a social setting or out in a group
The same way a certain group of young heterosexual men might be seen as having messy boorish aggressive laddish behaviour when in a pack
Same with certain girls when out this loud intimidating omg and what ever else your having image.
So the same with some of the gay community.
It's like when some people are out they take their " normal " default personality setting and when their in certain social settings they turn it up a notch or 10
Seen it with my own eyes be people gay hetro or whatever.

I bet these guys even annoy the **** out of normal gay guys as they end up getting pigeon holed with them.

I'd be considered a "normal gay guy" but would never judge these lads, despite the fact that their persona mightn't be my cup of tea. It's their confidence to be whoever the **** they want to be despite years of physical/psychological bullying in school, loss of family/friends and derogatory comments from passersby that have won myself and countless others the rights we now enjoy over many decades.

Franc the Irish Wedding Planner is King of camp. Had presumed he was gay and then on one of his Shows on RTE, in walked his wife with Flower-Arrangements! My face was like this. I wonder is Francis and/or John Brennan gay?

Occasionally Simon Cowell evokes suspicions in me.
Stevie Wonder could see that he's a baker of fancy cakes

A guy who just puts his cock in guys asses without a disco ball???

A gay lad who hasn't yet found the courage to tell his gay friends that he's secretly sexually interested in women only .......... you know, a normal gay guy! :)

I would see these type of loons around fairly regularly, each one a bigger pain in the hole than the last.

I can't for the life of me understand why they don't just go to a gay pub and socialise with their own kind.

Having said that, they are encouraged by a lot of women for some reason....

You need to use more lube. The pain shouldn't be there.

The self loathing gay misogynist would appeal all right to a few folks around here. :)

I get that they annoy you but the reason they don't segregate themselves with "their own kind" is because they have the right to go where they please, as have unattractive women and whatever other group displeases folk here.

dudes are way more fun, why you want to hang around with girls all night .

Funny someone pointed this out, it actually reminds me of a certain quote by "Crazy Larry" in the movie Layer Cake :pac:

Personally I've met a few gay guys where being gay seems to be a substitute for a personality or having actual interests or tastes, its annoying but only as annoying as stereotypical Jocks or "angry" metallers e.g not something to judge an entire orientation or sub-culture on.
Though for god sakes if your going to try be camp and witty please actually be funny its amazingly painful otherwise.

One thing though, how is Lady Gaga a stereotypical gay idol but Rob Halford doesn't get an love :(

Yea you right I'm off to bed, just seen a hen with 19 females and the token gay friend, made me a bit wtf dude, dudes are way more fun, why you want to hang around with girls all night and wft is going on with your voice.

You'd rather hang out with the boys instead of a bunch of women and you call THIS guy gay? 'Dudes are way more fun'. Alrighty then.

Well that's why the "normal" you quoted is in inverted commas it's all subjective
One person's normal is another's crazy. Each to their own I'd say.

I'm not that fond of the camp persona, but I wouldn't judge someone by it. I'd judge someone by whether they were nice, funny, engaging etc...the important stuff...

"their own kind" Jesus wept

Comical that you and the OP (and others of course) are threatened by guys who don't follow the norm.
I'm not threatened in the slightest, I'm well able to look after myself in most situations.

I would call it a fleeting annoyance.

What's wrong with that term? 'Acting' can have two meanings, the profession and mannerisms/behaviour (like those police reports where someone was seen 'acting' suspiciously -- ya know they're not pretending to be suspicious!).

I don't use the term myself but considering my natural mannerisms happen to have more in common with your typical straight lad (bar sport:cool:) -- I can see why some do. I certainly dont 'act' in the performing sense.

Back when I first joined the gay scene, I was berated by some for not being their 'normal' (ie camp) -- i didn't like Britney (or their later god gaga) or any shallow popculture (xfactor) -- liking metal was the wrong kind of alternative to normal to some. Substitute the boring sport talk with boring xfactor/realtity/tv talk and conversations would just die as people just assumed I had listened to 'x' or watched 'y'. I bluntly put down in real passive aggressive ways, some people were literally like 'i'm done' and just walked off --dismissed like i was nothing?? Everyone else was just like 'oh he's always like that - isn't he so funny' (not exact quotes but the gist). My confidence was certainly shaken.

Granted this was all college age lads so it was really immature, but there was a strong implementation that I wasn't welcome by the camper people. I was even blamed for a gay bar that closed down because people like me (who come out a bit later) hadn't been supporting that pub. Others apologised for him but still.....not a great first experience.

A lot of what camp culture is, is just following the lowest common, shallow denominators in our modern popculture. Things are better now or else I'm just mingling with broader groups of gay people.

People who actively try to emphasise how "not normal" they are can fcuk right off too!

Some gay people are annoying in that they have to make everything about their sexuality. Every second comment is a little quip about their homosexuality.

Get over yourself. No one cares where you shove your dick.
