The box is working beautifully here, I have to say. I left it at openelec, I'm using tvheadend (although I haven't figured out how to add saorview through my dvb-t tuner yet, I wasn't sure it was supported but it does look to pick it up ok)... I have so many flipping family members after me for one since I got mine that I might be able to do a one woman group buy shortly :)

Quackles, which DVB-T tuner are you using?

It's a cheapo one I bought years ago and had stuck in a box... It just says HDTV DVB-T tuner on the yolk itself, when you look at it through tvheadend it says ITE 9135 Generic_1 : DVB-T 0

Lads, what else can I do, i have to draw the line somewhere, no matter when i close this off there will always be someone who misses out. If i posted up that I was going to leave it open for 24 hours, then I could potentially end up with a couple of hundred people getting in touch and to be honest, there is no way I am putting in an order of that many. Ill have a look through my mails over the next few hours and see how many I have that showed an interest.

I can tell you though, that Ive had nearly 60 emails and from a quick glance over them, Ive a lot of people requesting two devices this time around.

payed u there thanks mate.let me know if got it cheers

It possibly is, can't follow the link to look at the product details, but I'd say it was bought around that time, and I know it was from a bargain alert :pac:

Many thanks to all who have paid me already, I have had to refund some users who failed to send payment via paypal as a gift, so could those users get back to me and sort out payment again please. Ye would have gotten notification from paypal of the refund along with an email from me also.

I completely forgot to send on money and reply to the email. I will do it in the next 30 minutes there.

Other than a microSD card, is there anything else people should be getting for these boxes? Remote / keypad combo or anything of that nature?
An adaptor (shaver adaptor) to convert US plug to UK/Ireland plug. The one that comes with the Wetek is crap! I, like some others, used the 12v power supply from an old modem. The power supply with the Wetek is rated at 12v 2A; my 1.5A stand-in has given no problems so far.
Also read reports that the included HDMI lead can be faulty. Trip to Dealz should sort out adaptor and HDMI :D

I just ordered this DVB-T2 stick from Amazon 3rd party seller, used, comes in at under €20 delivered to Ireland:
August DVB-T210 - HD Freeview USB TV Tuner
Also been eyeing up this one, suspect it should work, has Realtek RTL2832U+R820T chipset:
    Foxnovo DVB-T USB TV
Seems like it's a bit of a lottery though getting a cheap USB tuner which works with OpenELEC / TVHeadend / Wetek!

    Thanks again Aqous

I have ballsed up my openelec so I stuck on Android, not crazy on it. Only one lnb seems to be working as in recording one channel and watching another channel, anyone know what I am doing wrong?

I had tvheadend up and running beautifully and had finally got the two lnbs going. Then it starting freezing like crazy and when I would reboot it would be ages checking for errors and then freeze again shortly after.
I'm pretty sure the problem was tvheadend recording to the nand on the box than ext storage like I had specified and was screwing up the running of it after a bit of googling and I couldn't find any recordings on the ext hdd.

I like the fact that you can use other parts of kodi besides watch tv when you are recording unlike wetek theatre

Right so, as per email, there only 2 hours left for those that emailed their interest in this to pay before I close it off. I'm away for the day tomorrow so want it done and dusted tonight with the intention of submitting and paying for order first thing on Monday morning.

Guys does this box also tune in satellite channels ? Do I need any antennas to use it without internet ? Thanks !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 99 ✭✭BluesWeeper

You have to choose a tuner with the wetek order, either DVB-S2 (satellite) or T/C terrestrial /cable)... you do need an antenna.

    DVB-C/T/T2
Broadcast Cable and Terrestrial signal to connect with terrestrial antenna or cable

    DVB-S2
Broadcast Satellite signal to connect with your satellite antenna

depends where you are and what connections you have in the place, for example I'm in louth and have a dvb-t one and get all Irish and all the Itv, BBC and Channel 4 ones with an a standard antenna.
