When it comes to exercise and nutrition, you should never do things by halves.

    Full kilo

When someone standing behind your seat on a bus or tram keeps banging off the back of your head with their elbow or shoulder bag.

    F**king politicians.

Some advisor of Charlie Haughey dies and there are tributes everywhere. A man has died and I am respectful of that. R.I.P.

However, firstly he was "a close advisor" to one of the most ruthless and corrupt politicians of our time, Charlie Haughey. Secondly, he is being referred to as a "master of the black arts of politics" - well if that's what he practised it should not be lauded as a good thing. And finally 20 or so years of politics is not "public service"... it is self service. They are extremely well paid and I cannot name one who does things for the good of the people.

    There.

    That's it.

    I'm off for a lie down :(

Personally I hate the thing of 'don't speak ill of the dead'. I'm not sure if its an Irish thing or not but if someone is or was a bollox I'm going to say it. Them being dead does not suddenly absolve them of being a wanker. If we follow that logic we'd all be saying Stalin and Hitler were nice guys

Lots of the great and good condemmed that guy a few years back who filmed himself dancing on Charlie Haugheys grave. I just laughed and shared it on Facebook

When Maggie Thatcher died half of the UK erupted in street parties. The other half were all high and mighty about it. "oh what vile people". She actively went out of her way to piss off millions of people, what do they expect ???

I agree - half a kilo on each hand, that would also qualify as weight lifting.

My kitten Luna is actually a boy... do I change his name? Do I let him grow up as a boy or girl? I'm so confused!

    Another facebook annoyance...

I have a "friend" who writes for a right wind news website and the stuff he come out with would do your head in. He'll spam all his articles on facebook. The comments will explain why his story is nonsense or where he has manipulated stats or similar and he'll respond with a dismissive "Ah but, that's not what people are telling me" or "The mainstream media is not to be trusted".

He is obsessed with telling women that they should conform to traditional gender roles and be housewives. He 'corrects' people when they say Zimbabwe instead of Rhodesia.

He changed his cover photo to one of David Bowie overliad with the pro-fascist quote of his Thin White Duke persona. When it was pointed out that the Thin White Duke was meant to be a nasty character who said nasty things and the Bowie himself was apolitical he just deleted the comments.

The worst part is that he's only 24.

Change his name to Looney, he won't notice the difference and it's probably accurate anyway. :pac:

Please give him a chin-rub from me, thanks. :)

Ah I think you should just keep his name as Luna, sure he will ignore you when you call him, no matter what his name is :pac:

For him it is. He's obsessed, even though he has no connection to Zimbabwe or the entire continent for that mater. His mum is Irish, his dad German, but he sees himself as a proud "British True Blue Tory"

I only keep him as a friend because I enjoy winding him up

He sounds like a bit of a gob****e to be honest.

Companies selling online, who prior to your purchase, are your friend and only too happy to answer any amount of questions you have on the product in question. Ask anything after the purchase, and nada, zilch, sweet FA. Pretty much "well, we have your money, fcuk off"

Being in my thirties and still not knowing how to comfort someone who is upset. My mum was on the phone to me crying because she was on the phone to my gran who was crying (because she's at that stage of dementia where she knows something is up and she's afraid). Usually I'd just give someone a drink as a sort of cure all but since we were on the phone I panicked and there was this silence while my mum sniffled and then I said to her, "um....the persil is on special in Tesco, will I pick one up for you?" - great ONW. You are the spiritual healer goddess

Don't worry... just talking to someone who is upset can be huge comfort itself.
You'd be surprised the amount of people who actively avoid people when they just need someone to listen / talk to. Hope your Gran is ok. Must be difficult.

TA that my coffee has ran out and I'd love a cup now :(

When you try to take a screenshot on your phone but mess up the timing and end up locking it instead, f*ck off phone

I know the feeling, I get stuck for words quiet easily so when someone is upset in my company you can imagine how bad it gets.

The worst case was when I was the last customer in one evening to get my haircut. It's usually a quiet barbers so I was lucky it was still open. Little did I know that this was her first day back since burying her father & before I know it she was in floods of tears while staring at me in the mirror telling me all about it. As bad and all as it was for her, to end up with a dope stuck for words staring back at her definitely didn't help :( Haven't been able to go back in there since either.

I already call her/him Looney Luna ha! She/he enjoyed the chin rub New Home ;)

I think I will keep the name Luna, I don't think the 2 kittens know their names anyway unlike Pepper. Or maybe Pepper is just a weird a cat!

I can't stop laughing at poor Luna!!! I don't think I will ever get used to a fact that she's a boy.

I have a male lurcher called Luna. He came with the name from the rescue and I never bothered to change it. He's not the manliest of males. In fact he is mega camp so he gets away with the name. In this age of gender fluidity and what not, I say keep it!!!!

I have recently separated from my partner and one of the dads at the school was asking me how I was doing and I just suddenly got all wobbly lipped and teary and he didn't really know what to say. But he touched me on the arm and gave me a nice smile and a few awkward words and it meant a lot.

But fcuk me I'm morto as he is basically the poster boy for 'hot dad'. I once walked into a lamppost while talking to him as I was flustered by his hot presence!

I've officially decided to keep his name as Luna. Thanks :D

My tonsilitis and ear infection is making me cry. This is easily the worst pain I have been in, even worse than when a surgeon made an incision for c section & the epidural had worn off.
    Can't even eat comfort chocolate.

Oh he is. And of course when he does something stupid and gets in trouble, it's never his fault.

Case in point he went to his cousins wedding in rural Cork. He got drunk in a pub one night and made a loud negative remark using the word "paddys." So the locals had a word with the bar staff, who then had a word with his family telling them to get him out of there ASAP. When he found out about this he ranted on facebook about violent drunk paddys. This is despite the fact that he has an Irish passport which he has used for journalism purposes in the Middle East.

Oddly he has to keep changing his mobile number every six months. Someone keeps signing him up for a deluge of left wing and environmental SMS alerts.

He only shares his number with close family and friends ;)

My annoyance from today was BlackIce , damnit!

    Slush further up the road...
    Local road approx 3pm...
Main road adjoining all okay,no grit!...
Taking a corner on one of those real narrow, real Local Roads and my car starts dancing around the bend on BlackIce...
^^^ Proud of my Car-Handling Skills, thanking my Lucky Stars no on-coming traffic.

Annoyed that it was 3pm. Annoyed that the Section itself was not sheltered to the point where it could be seen to be isolated for potential Black Ice with nothing en approach or after.

    Black Ice,
    My TA for today.
