All in it was 120 euro
    Shipping was 40 euro.
Couldnt source the parts here in Ireland,UK or Europe at a decent price,so getting them from Revzilla in USA worked out cheaper.:)

Just ordered this GB Racing engine casing protection kit off of German Ebay for 220 euro.
Should be here in 5 days time.

Well the bike battery was giving me grief for awhile so decided to charge it today.

As I'm scourged with a BMW, they're actually very reliable but an absolute curse to work on.

It took at least 45 minutes to get to the battery, and absolute pain in the hole.

Now to put it back together again, in this fecking sleet

Would you not have fitted a flying lead to attach a charger to?
I have one on my Dominator, just pull it out from behind the frame and plug it in to the charger, no more taking sidepanels off and hooking up crocodile clips.

    'Tis all the one now.

I've to collect a new battery tomorrow and fit it Friday.

This was was almost dry when I took it out. I topped it up with distilled water (I have a dehumidifier in my extention, handy for distilled water).

It started great but as the evening got on and temps dropped the battery soon died.

Can't complain really, looks like its still on its original battery.

Jobs to do ~ Battery, rear shock (YSS or Wilbers) and a service.

You must know that bike inside out by now.:D

Get yourself a battery charger fly lead and attach it to the battery.

That way you can keep a charger on it,or stick a charger on it when the battery does start to go on you.:)

I picked up a Yuasa battery charger kit for 35 euro, that included a quick connect fly lead too.
Got it in Somora Motor parts over near Naas Road.

have a good google on how best to do that - dab of superglue on the exposed fibres to stop them fraying etc afterwards iirc

    I may as well now.

The rear shock is shot and leaking bad, I couldn't/wouldn't sell it like that.

The drive shaft crown bearing has just been done too, with the new battery, service and shock sure I'll probably end up keeping her for another few years.

There's a nice looking Transalp on Donedeal which I'm considering as a second bike, but it might be a little small for my 6'1'' 125kg frame.

Sitting in UPS out at the back of the airport waiting for collection.

Stewie, Weird, I was going to post in the Kriega thread Wonda started about my Kriega Sling I got delivered on Monday. Its absolutely perfect for me, can hold a 10" pad, phone, charger, wallet etc and is so comfortable you dont know you wearing it, comes in at £95 though, much more versatile than the R30 I have, 10 year guarantee on it too. If you've a few quid lying around I'd recommend it,waterproof and comfortable, FTW.

Not bike related but more helmet related.
Bought some universal breath guards for the HJC and X-Lite carbon lids.
Modified them to fit both lids, without the need for velcro or double sided tape.

Perfect secure and snug fit around my nose and across my cheeks.
No more misting visors and also a warm face in the cold winds aswell.:D

Would one of these along with a cigarette type socket not do as good if not better job at a fraction of the price?

Been onto Motografix in the UK about a kit for the fz1.
I wanted a bit of gold on the kit to match in with the fz1 forks.

They can change the red in this kit to gold for me so think i will go with it.
