I'm sure others here have far better ones than mine, but just want to share, and see if anyone else has forgot their brain due to a hot girl/man.

So, on Friday in work, I was talking about a girl to another guy in work and went to show him her on Facebook. I accidentally poked her on Facebook due to a misclick on my phone. At this point, I, in my usual stupid self, started to panic thinking what will she think when she sees that and knows I was on her profile. So I turn to google (bad mistake this time).

One of the answers told me to deactivate my Facebook account, reactivate it, block her and then unblock her, and she won't know who did it. So, I did that, only to notice that this removed her as a friend on Facebook, so I added her back.

However, my work colleague pointed out that everyone would see we became friends again and know something happened, so I, being the genius I am, agreed and to counteract this, started deleting about 40-50 people off my friends list and started re adding them. This way, people would just assume I was fraped or something random happened to my Facebook. I also proceeded to then poke a bunch of other people that she talks to so that they'd say I was poked off him too and think I was just being odd.

Took me about 30 minutes before I realised what an idiot I was and I should have just ignored it, and now I just laugh at how I reacted.

So, how big of an idiot I am, and does anyone have anything worse?

This is the Facebook equivalent of Fr Ted trying to tap out a small dent in the car and ending up destroying the thing.

I had a big crush on a girl who was best friends with my friends girlfriend. My friends girlfriend was having a birthday party over at the house and I overheard her saying her lovely friend will be there. I thought I'd get some drink into me to get a bit of confidence, So I did, and drank a lot. Ended up on the sofa asleep in front of her and the lads played buckaroo on me with like pizza boxes and stuff until I would wake !!!

Photos were taken of me and everything. It was not my finest moment.

Seen her at the Bustop today, Still looking as beautiful as ever. I can't look her in the eye now :(

This thread is making me cringe for different reasons. I'm in my thirties and I still experience the odd crush!

Sometimes I go in to a particular pub because I really like the bar man. I wrote most of my thesis in it because of him. We chat a bit. I might say "how are you?" Then he might say "Ah not a bother. How was your Christmas?"

Inside I'm thinking that he seems like the kindest, gentlest man I've ever met and I have no basis for this other than experiencing a silly little crush. And at my age! :pac:

I remember when my Crush poked me on Facebook. Don't know why she did it. Seemed rather random.

Worst case scenario, you're right where you are now - only with closure.

Do it! I make an eejit of myself on a daily basis but I don't let it stop me doing anything, you don't die from it!

It could turn out to be something wonderful. :)

Oh I'm the same Candie but this would be a different kind of making an eejit out of me :p

If I do get around to it you lot will be the first to know :)

I was way to shy to approach the topic of talking to girls I liked.

Only joking titan18 and good luck Persepoly, whatever you do :)

Same (about boys) And I remember being in 5th year, still tongue-tied and awkward when a few of the girls would be around gossiping about who we fancied, all of us too shy to ever speak to them. There was a new girl who moved over from Ukraine and was put back 2 years because of her English so was older than us, and she could not fathom why we would not speak to boys we like and tell them that we like them, and we could not fathom ever being so forward, the thoughts had us all cringing to death but she was never short of a boyfriend or two ;) needless to say we thought she was God.

Stupidest thing I ever did due to a crush was tell him how I really felt about him.
Hello rejection, and bye-bye friendship. :(

Beats 10+ years of "whatif?" torture, I would reckon.

Whatever happened to most stupid, stupidest is not even a word. It might be if you refer to urban dictionary which some stupid person wrote.

    I don't think it's stupid.

If someone is special enough to love then they're special enough to be told. Being rejected might hurt, but being silent might hurt more long term.

Does it really matter? You know what he meant, and he's not submitting a CV, just chatting on a forum.

I had my first crush when I was 10 or 11. Girl around the corner kind of thing. We were in the same play-school when we were much younger, and once we even kissed each other on the cheek. :pac:

I used to go up to the green by her house most days after school with a football, a rugby ball, a hurley and a sliotar, and play (on my own) to see if I could get her attention. I'd kick/puck a ball up in the air and try to catch it, then stare at her house for a sign that she'd seen what I could do.

Never could see much through the lace curtains. :o We ended up being friends for a few years as teenagers, but never anything more. She even went out with my brother for six months or so. >_<

I was a shy teenager and really really awkward around boys, and had this habit of blanking and ignoring the ones I actually fancied for fear of making a holy show of myself.

I played a lot of tennis competitions around the country when I was 12-15 and fancied the pants off this lad called Mark from Sligo. We were paired together for a game of mixed doubles one time and I ignored him from start to finish. He was a lovely friendly chap and kept trying to banter with me but I stonewalled him for the entire 2 hours on the court because I simply didn't know how to be a human being in his presence.

About halfway through I was at the net, he was serving and the ball flew right at me and smacked me right on the arse. Him and the couple on the other side nearly died laughing and I thought my life was over. I went 40 shades of red. "I'm so sorry, are you OK?" I got completely tongue tied and out of breath and muttered something completely non-sensical and weird like "I...yeah...it's just...I was...THINK!"

He exchanged 'this person is weird, man' eyes with the other two lads and we played the rest of the game in complete silence.

Sorry Mark from Sligo. It's coz I thought you were hot.

Filled out a copy book saying "I'm a fish" for every line out of "boredom" hoping to get the attention of the girl sitting next to me. I thought I was being hilarious. It only caught the attention of the maths teacher who showed the whole class.

    I was a moron of a 13 year old.

    Awwwwwwwh. :(

Don't let that stop you! Although, that did happen to me as a teenager!

Slightly related: A friend of mine told me he liked me, we were friends since we were ickle. I tried to tell him it was just fondness but we had a fight over it. Anyway, he came out a year later, he was just very mixed up at the time and couldn't differentiate between attraction and fondness. We're still friends.

A guy I used to like, still friends with him today. I told him I liked him and we had a conversation about it, saying it would be too weird, as we were too close as friends.

A little while later he came out.

    :/

Just waiting for my ex of 4 and half years to come out as gay now. I turn them all. :pac:

Sorry, that was a bit off topic.

Happened to a friend on a night out. I cringe myself every time I think of the story, never mind him.

We were in the local nightclub, up at the bar. Bumped into a few girls, got talking, have a few drinks. All going well. I reach into the top pocket of my shirt (for whatever reason I don't know) and low and behold I find a 20 euro note. I wave the note in the air with glee and we all jump around in excitement. The excitement would soon die down for my friend however. One of the girls says to my friend, "Oh, I wonder what's in your shirt pocket!!". She then proceeds to pull out his retainer!!! The look of both confusion and disgust on her face!! The look of both pure shock and utter embarrassment on his!! I'll never forget it haha! He then tries to make light of the situation with a classic - "Oh, eh, they're, eh, my false teeth". I think that actually made it worse :D

I was twelve and I was in primary school and we were doing embroidery in school. I fancied this boy I met on holiday in East Cork and I decided to embroider ''I love David'' using red thread on a piece of cloth. Thankfully it took me so long and I got bored towards the end so it read ''I love Da'' and I never bothered to finish it, knowing me I would have given it to him if I had finished it, cringe. Now David will never know of my love for him! :pac:

I wrote a love letter to a boy in primary school and we got married in the yard during little break. I wasn't sure what marriage entailed when bringing out the bins was taken out of the equation, so I told him he had to eat his sandwich before his petit filous, to show I cared about his nutrition. We divorced at big break the next day.

I thought we were only talking about adult crushes, I've enough childhood material to keep me going for years.

Please tell us more. I love your stories!

I didn't do anything too silly, I usually just kept it to myself. I did text the lyrics of a song to a boy once. He didn't reply and I was mortified. Can't listen to the song without thinking about that, which is a shame because it's one of my favourite songs.
