On the subject of bad backs and hauling heavy stuff I definably think shorter stocky folks are at a big advantage. Most of the men I know with bad backs are 6ft or taller. I'm 6ft 3" myself and have had some minor back trouble in the past. My Uncle is now near crippled from it after several operations. Its made me deadly carefully now when hauling bags of feed or cement around the place and always make sure to lift with the knees bent and make sure the strain is taken more by the lower body then the upper. Indeed if you ever watch the weight lifting at the Olympics etc. its clear what body shape is favoured

Did a H&S course in work manual handling telling us the right way and wrong way to lift things. They showed us a video of toddlers picking up boxes and stuff they where picking them up the proper way it's only as we get older and stronger we start reaching and rooting to lift stuff that does all the damage.

Unfortunately it catches up with ya lads

I'm just gone 23, and since July have spent a nice few bob on physio. Haven't had any problems since Halloween. But all the same its a pain.
There's a bit to do with the size of ya, I'm just under nine stone so I'm fairly feckin small in comparison to a 50kg bag of nitrogen!

Parents are looking for a new car, they have an 05 skoda superb from new, they are finding it very hard to get another car with a comfortable drivers seat, most new cars have bucket type seats, any ideas? My mothers back wouldnt be able for a bucket type seat.

My sister changed her car a few months ago and her main priority was that the seats were suitable for my mother as she is getting older and she wanted a diesel smaller car. She bought an opel meriva 1.7 and is delighted with it.

Do you not think ford seats are very uncomfortable? But then again I guess everyone gets used to their own seat

    We are?

I did wonder why I paid for hectares and got given acres.

Didn't like to mention it in case people thought I was rude.

In hospital most of the morning. There must be about 12 hand sanitizer things near me. I would say if 10 % use them that's the most. What's the point!

I hate them but use it going in/out. If you've any cracks on your hand bygod it'll find them!!
My nana has been in and out of hospital since before Christmas so have been a regular visitor to Sligo in the last while.

Strangely I like when it gets into the cracks or any cuts. Tis like the burn putting on aftershave. You'd know all bout that Kovu. ;-)

Especially at dances, there would be more washing of hands, if there wasn't an African standing in the corner waiting a fiver for a paper towel!! Can't understand how they are allowed in to do that job. No peace anywhere!
