They're all 5w5 wedge bulbs. Think I'll keep with the standard bulbs in the mondeo and focus footwells, but want a nice clear bulb on the mondeo reg plate. I see so many cheap blueish tinged LED number plate lights that flicker badly. I want to find a nice one that looks well, like those on the new focus', bmws, audi's etc. Don't mind spending a bit extra as long as they look well.

I have lovely ones on the focus, that good old toastedpickles gave me! The last ones I had in the mondeo gave off that dim glow for a while after the lights were off, the focus doesn't do that at all, they just knock off straight away. Do them phillips ones above stay on for a while, or knock off straight away?

Well I've only used those ones I bought from there in the side indicators. I taught they'd all work the same.

Any good sellers on ebay for bulbs, specifically reg plate and footwells?

For reg plates just buy lef clusters, won't rust or ever blow and brighter.

    About 15 quid

These are the ones I have in the focus. They look bright, but aren't as gaudy in person.

Car passed its Nct earlier on which I still cannot believe, I sent it in so that I could get the fail sheet and take things from there. The rear sub frame bushes are completely knackered on it as well as the near side ball joint......

Philips or osram LEDs are very good. No flicker, no half life after car is turned off. Philips brighter.... but I'm not a fan of ultra bright number plate bulbs, the dimmer the better in my book hehehe. My car Has osram led side lights, hers has Philips. Neither car has any canbus warnings for bulbs so can't say one way or the other there. Around the 4000 kelvin range. Match up to nightbreakers or philips extreme vision fine. Nothing as skangery looking as blueish eBay leds!

First 161 reg I've seen - robbed from the 161 registration thread. Be hard distinguish from a 151!

I have feeling this could be a big year for new car sales there could be a lot of 161/162 and it doesn't seem as if VW sales are going to drop much over the emissions scandal. The new Tucson and kadjar will sell like hot buns Ireland loves it's SUV's for under 30k euro.

I can't see the kadjar making inroads into it's qashqai cousin. especially given that it's the same price and nissan are doing scrappage

Can't do any worse than the Koleos. That was a total disaster for them. Took 2 months to source a replacement dash for the mothers one, because there was just so few RHD models made.

I was talking to a salesman from the place I bought my car recently and he said they are selling unbelievably well they are struggling to get enough of them. Now in saying all that, that is a particularly popular Renault garage with a huge customer base. But he said they were suprised how well they took of. I think people are sick of looking at qashqai's at this stage tbh. I'll see how many they have tomorrow morning when I'm getting the Megane serviced.

Just transferred my insurance on to the new car. I was kinda expecting to pay more as Im moving to a bigger car which has slightly more power but nope, got €200 back. Happy days :D

edit; forgot to mention that Ive bought a Volkswagen Jetta. Nothing exciting but i've always had a thing for them ever since they came out. My main aim is to keep this for the full year at least :)

The Golf probably has a nice loading on it since it's a popular car in the high risk driver segment :pac:

You're spot on there! That's car guy rule #1.

Out of interest though, why did you chose to sell your Golf after like 8 weeks and then move straight to a Golf with a boot and reckon this will last much longer.

I know you've gone mk4 to mk5 but just curious! When you've a few €k to slap around there are some fabulous cars available.

The Golf was a great car but I got bored of it very fast. That same model has been out since '98 (afaik) and Id much prefer a nicer, bigger, more comfortable and higher spec car. I also much prefer having a saloon :pac:

I got a very good price for the Golf and Im getting the Jetta at a good price too

    they'l be nice!

(detailers beware!) blast them with WD40 and use an old paintbrush for scrubbing, they'l come up a treat.

looks like you got at least 2 good tyres on them too, Hifly are they?

Tyres aren't right.. Wires coming through on one side of each good tyre.. I had a look and the alloys are stamped"made in Italy"

Nice. The leather gear knob looks a bit more serious. The plastic one in the 1.4 looked like a toy :D
Aye the 1.4 one is ****e. Mine is worn down and cracked from the previous owner, probably a wedding ring did it. Replaced it with a ridiculous looking Type R one, without a gait :o
