Sky/CNN saying the fireworks display will still go ahead, talk about priorities??

They have about one million visitors for New Year's eve according to the news.
I guess they don't want to disappoint.

Another explosion, and fire definitely not under any sort of control.

There is always the possibility that its not as bad than it looks. Not that I'd remain anywhere near the fuckin thing.

They have a split screen on Sky News, one with the fireworks and one with the building on fire...very surreal!

Sky News were very confused by the delay on the Periscope stream they're using

Someone get Steve McQueen on the blower.

Yes, I can hear you Clem Fandango, but I think your reference went over the head of most of the young pups on this forum, their loss to be too young too appreciate such a great film.

Steve McQueen and Paul Newman were absolute divas on that movie.

At 12 for well over a minute they were showing a building with the countdown clock and nothing else while the fireworks were flying! They were even speculating that the main fireworks were not going ahead. Had to switch to CNN to see the fireworks.

Yes they managed to have the cameras pointing at the correct building now. Took them long enough. They missed most of the main show.

They have contained 90% of the fire.

That means one of 3 things, the video is lying, the officials are lying or I don't understand what a contained fire means.

    Very surreal indeed.

And then the shark finally kills Paul Daniels

A curtain on the 20th floor of the hotel is suspected of having caught fire and burning down the hotel.

Sky News love a good disaster don't they?

I'd Imagine Kay Burley is Dubai bound as we speak, currently looking for the home address of some of the fire fighters involved, in the hope they'll be injured, so she can barge through the front door looking for comment/reaction!

There was explosions after that though, but it never looked to be 90% under control.

    Talk the building could collapse.

    Both insisted on top billing.

Names appeared together, one higher on the right than the other lower on the left screen.
