I remember watching the documentary "49% mother****er 51% son of a bitch", it was really good. He seemed a bit eccentric but very down to earth and authentic at the same time. His adult son was being interviewed and he said that Lemmy was giving him some fatherly advice. Not sure of the exact words but it was something like "don't do speed, don't ever do speed......do coke, it's much better for you" :p

I heard this on the midnight news, ah I thought another brick in my youths wall has fallen out and closed my eyes to sleep.

If Lemmy was a film character he'd have been in a Mad Max film (toecutter?) - the perfect tribute so.

One of the greatest rock bassists known to man, the motorhead finally succumbed.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

And not wishing to start a debate on the subject, but I much preferred Motorhead cover 'Enter Sandman' than Metallica

Funnily enough I prefer Motorhead's version of Whiplash than Metallica's original version

Never heard of Motörhead til I started watching WWF back in the day. Loved Triple H's entrance music that they did. His gravelly voice will never be copied. Saw him being interviewed as part of a British Rock appreciation show and he was so enigmatic. R.I.P. Lemmy :(

In an increasingly colourless world, we've lost a one-of-a-kind and a truly unique performer & character of the rock world.

RIP Lemmy, we'll not see your like again.:(

It's great irony that your location is listed as Valhalla.

Do you mean because of the lyrics to brave new world ?

he government has always been you pal as you well know
    Absolute corrupted power play,
If we all wipe each other out, it only goes to show
While the bureaucrats get richer by the day,
Smoking dope will get you more than murder one,
And even worse than statutory rape,
Don't understand your children, so you send them all to jail,
Beleive me, you will never make a worse mistake.

if a 15 year old couple have sex is it rape

Lemmy was fired by Hawkwind after he was busted for the possession of speed on the Canadian/US border in 1975, quite ironic really that he sacked from a band that had an insatiable appetite for drugs.

His Bass playing was a fundamental part of the Hawkwind sound of that era in the early seventies.

Really saddened to hear of his death, great memories though. RIP

I see he's still managing to wind people up - even in death. He'd like that.

One I first ticked off the list when I seen Motorhead play the 'Kings of Rock' gig in Dalymount Park, Dublin 28th Aug 1983.

They played above the sound pain barrier that day and Lemmy at the first interlude asked to see some tits of the shoulder borne girls in the crowd when a young lad obliged he crowned him with the mic stand.

RIP Lenny. Motorhead left a huge mark on Pro Wrestling, some of the best themes to exist.

Triple H's theme is boss. Loved when they performed love in the stadium too.
