Picking this (1985 635CSi) up in the first week of January, collected the V5C today (UK Reg)
Needs massive amounts of welding and possibly new wings, bumper to be rechromed also. I understand it comes with an almost complete spare leather interior also.

Edit: also the engine is not running.

Good luck with it! They're a stunning looking car. Make sure you do a build thread with pictures. I'm dying to see how it goes :p

I was so tempted myself with it going so cheap and being in Cork! Good luck with it :)

Will be great to see that old girl back on the road rather than rotting in a shed.

    I bought a Cube...

Just look at that parking! You'll be getting a phone call like this soon I'd imagine! :pac:

Here are your messages: "You have thirty minutes to move your car." "You have ten minutes." "Your car has been impounded." "Your car has been crushed into a cube." "You have thirty minutes to move your cube."
[Phone Rings] Y'ello, Mr. Burns Office?

Mr Burns: Is it about my cube?

That car was actually swapped for a five speed gearbox kit by the guy that brought it over .....
I've just finished a 2 year resto on mine and can tell you that although general mechanical parts are inexpensive for the E24 the panels and trim you will need for that car are not .
Be very very wary which so called specialist breakers you deal with as they WILL rob you.
I'd hope that you are a good welder /fabricator/ panel beater/painter and mechanic because interesting times lie ahead for you .......These cars rust in all the places and more that a 1970's design demands .
I do sincerely wish you good luck and look forward to seeing your progress.
PS I can link you to my build thread if you want it .

Hey, please do link, I'de be very interested to see.
I'm not a welder, but my friend is a fantastic one and will feature many times on the build thread. We'll be doing our very best to reuse as much of the original parts as possible, but obviously that won't be possible for a lot of the car.
I have a friend who gets me genuine BMW parts very cheap (that's why I could afford to replace almost all mechanical sections of my e39 last year).
I'll have the build thread up probably a couple of weeks after it's collected.

The h3000 family wagon. Not as cool as most cars here but I'm very happy with it.

I got to give it a good clean and wax the other day.

Thanks, I bought it secondhand and wasn't too sure about the colour but I like it now.

That candy red is lovely on the mk4.5. Colleague has one similar to that and it looks really well. Not common, don't know why as it works great.

I hope I'm not hijacking this thread .
Unfortunately the site I use has just changed the format and a lot of the photos and text of the thread have been lost . I've spent some time editing it again and trying to make it sensible but if the thread seems a little disjointed or out of context then it was down to that changeover.
As I say, a lot of it was lost .
If nothing else it'll let you see what open heart surgery is like on the E24 ...!
Good luck and pm me if I can help.
