'How Low Can You Go?' - yeah, that was awful shíte but have to admit, I really enjoyed his Mammy show.

I've been in the mosque in Ballyhaunis. It's not very exciting. :)

He's annoying as hell. I avoid anything to do with him.

    Self-involved rubbish.

Well as an Irishman I won't throw too many stones. We were allowed to rape our wives until 1990.

    An anomaly that was plugged.

In Sharia law, that can never happen. Due to what the book sez.

No different to people in Ireland claiming to be Catholic while not practising the religion in any manner whatsoever. I have met Muslims who would describe themselves in this way too.

    Yes, exactly this.

Caught a couple of minutes if him on the Late Late recently banging on about this.

What struck me was how...boring he was, he even made that "the terrorists want to increase Islamophobia" point, as if was some new or unusual take.

He just seemed a bit of a lightweight.

    Agree

I watched the first episode - was actually looking forward to it. Thought "this should be interesting".

    Frankly, I was bored

Just another load of lefty propaganda dispensed to the spineless masses with an oh so fashionable gleam of political correctness.

I wouldn't give a toss about it but for the licence fee.

They are trying to soften us up and brainwash us to believe that Islam is a 'religion of peace'.

    What's the next step?

    What's the next step?

    Propagandic leaflets through the letterbox.

Let's wait and see. Won't be long in happening.

You seem to think you have an insight into this so why not enlighten the rest of us?

Don't want to be giving 'them' ideas. I can see you are sceptical. Fair enough. Let's revisit this thread in a couple of years and see how things pan out.

Ok, so just another example of the general conspiratorial based outlook re. Islam that has nothing objective to say.

The notion of Sharia Law becoming the Law of Ireland is as bonkers as those who would desire such a thing.

No, if it's any sort of step towards anything it's one that panders towards that notion of not offending anyone or any belief for common good.

Ok. When nothing happens like your 'theory' envisions I'm sure your point will...something.

Will sharia law come before or after the dire consequences from gay people marrying? Still waiting for society to crumble from divorce.

It's like doomsday prediction, nobody has been correct yet.

I would hope that in the not too distant future, a stunt goes horribly wrong, similar to the Late Late Breakfast show, and the show is cancelled following the funerals

I was with you until the funerals bit.

I've had experience of the guy before when he recorded a show with us on MMA in Ireland.

The guy is an arsehole of the highest order, a complete prick with ears.

Hi Frank, but do they describe themselves as having Irish or Catholic social nuances? Because I'd say they are fairly different :) thanks for the reply

I don't understand what you're trying to say here.

Between census 2006 and 2011 the Muslim population went from 35k to just under 60k, that is those who took part. You can bet your bottom dollar it will be 100k or over this time. That is a crazy growth rate and it isn't getting even the slightest bit of discussion.

It was slightly under 50,000 at the time of Census 2011, not 60,000. Numbers I've heard/seen quoted this year are saying the Muslim population is between 60-70,000, I think I saw 75,000 mentioned also, but I have no idea what any of these claims were based on.

Who would discuss this and for what purpose?

Get off the fence, Bjorn Scrawny Azimuth, will ya. :D

I really don't know what to make of this show. Is he genuinely interested in Islam or is he just making a show?
