I've read this a number of times and I really don't get what you mean, now, of course you could explain in-thread the exact details, arguments etc and so forth, but I am really conscious of derailing the thread so I think it best you swing by Sligo and give me a shout, and we take turns ripping up some back roads while we discuss the finer points of the above post, I'm free anytime.....

Ah now the e60 isn't exactly the most nimble of cars it's much more a cruiser of a car.

The differemces between my last car and current car e60 is night and day and I can only imagine that gap would be even more noticeable between a dc5 and an e60.

Does that e60 make a 'whoosh' sound as it passes over your head? :P

Cheeky gauge pick in the DC5. Im not really into them or the position they are in. Might take them out and wire in an android double din which can show virtual gauges

I actually like them, nothing wrong with a good quality gauge and they are a bit of a hark back to it's Japanese origins.

A nice car is a nice car, tasteful mods are no harm. It'd be worse to remove them.in the interest of conforming if you ask me.

Is that vacuum gauge seriously measuring pressure in inch of mercury (in/hg) I mean there is non SI units then there is inches of mercury I didn't think it was even in use anymore. I'd prefer mbar or pa but even psi would be better.

From what I don't know, my point is it's an unusual unit to use for pressure in this day and age but maybe that what traditionally used or what's used in Japan I don't know.

Other than that I actually quite like the gauges although would agree that android with digital display would look tidier. I suppose it just depends some prefer a physical gauge.

inHg is used in the USA. A Boeing flight-deck would really upset you. :D

The steering wheel looks the business, a league ahead of the one in the golf r in my opinion. Chunky with alacantara, looks very nice.

They will be coming out next month once I can source a replacement pillar. If I took them out now there would be 8 random holes in the pillar which would annoy me more than the gauges

delighted is an understatement :) one more year! had my re-test at 8:05am, was up washing and hoovering it at 7. nice early Christmas present.

why do you need a vacuum gauge? if you are planning turbo you could better get a turbo gauge instead.

Im getting an android double din but also have gauges (or well not yet mounted because they are in holland and im in ireland)

    - Oil Temp
    - Boost
    - AFR Wideband (didnt bought this one yet)

Picking this (1985 635CSi) up in the first week of January, collected the V5C today (UK Reg)
Needs massive amounts of welding and possibly new wings, bumper to be rechromed also. I understand it comes with an almost complete spare leather interior also.
