To be honest I think we only need a defensive midfielder in January but it is really important that we get one.

Hopefully United or City don't get any big signings in. If nothing changes at United then they really aren't a threat this season and I don't expect City to splash out.

Agree. But we have needed cover for a long time now at DM and didn't get it.
Hope he buys but have my doubts.

I reckon he will buy one now. Best chance in years but obviously we have a few crucial games to hopefully keep racking up the points before the windows opens.

Saints are really there for the taking and then two home games.

I hate looking at things like these....makes it look like it's Arsenal's title to lose.

    What do you mean negative?
We played so well that I think Wenger will believe we need nobody new.
It's an opinion. How the fcuk is it negative?

AND what's this " do you really support us" bull ?

You made a negative comment, I called you on it. It's quite simple really.

What was negative about the comment? and In any case why would you call someone out on a negative comment?

"Sanchez Is out for 6 weeks with a hamstring strain"

    "OMG stop posting negative crap"

Doesn't really make sense to me mate.

Pretty sure I've said this before, but I'll say it again anyway. Ozil is my favourite player since the invincibles.

I just love watching the guy play. Like Alan Davies said a few weeks back, it's like he's playing a different game to everyone else.

Really liked him during the 2010 World Cup when he destroyed England. Was saddened when he joined Real Madrid after the tournament but hey he's with us now and really grateful he now plays for Arsenal.

Negative opinions are just as valid as positive opinions, its not like Wenger actually reads this forum guys. Huge win, but there were some negatives in there.....DELIGHTED FOR THE GOONERS!

    Reading comprehension a problem?

I said that I can't see Wenger buying in Jan. How is that negative given that he didn't buy a DM in the summer when we needed one and I feel he's unlikely to do so in Jan when we are playing well without Coq?
Waiting to hear how that's negative.

What a player, makes the game look so easy.

Really paying for last night now. What a result though, shíte last 20 mins or so tbf, Gibbs makes me genuinely think we'll concede any time he comes on recently.

Masterclass from Ozil, Giroud still scoring for the fun of it, Defence was solid for the most part, Campbell a revelation, Theo, what a ****ing finish. Think I'm still half chopped. COME ON THE ****ING GUNNERS

The signed ball I bought for giroud's charity is on the way!!!

Was delighted with Campbell's workrate last night too. Really protected Bellerin and was all over the place. Growing into the team and his confidence is rising all the time. Someone said he was slow??
Now he lost the ball a few times BUT not in dangerous areas and was able to get back. He seems to be improving with every game and he's miles better than Ox at the minute. Could have scored at least one with a bit more coherence and luck. That will come with games.

Great to see Campbell has changed the minds of a lot of Arsenal fans, has managed to transform himself into a very admirable player with his hard work and constant improvement. I've wanted to see him doing well at Arsenal since he smashed that one in against United in the Champions league while he was on loan to Olympiakos.

Chamberlain could learn a lot from how Campbell has progressed this season.

Just a minor flaw for me in the game, if we could just brush up on our finishing then I think we could win the league with ease, a few chances for Ramsey, that great chance that Campbell put over, if even one of them had gone in then we were strolling instead of hving a nervy last few minutes. Its fine cause we got away with them last night but in some other game they could easily have been the reason for dropping points. Other then that a super result, the city defence looked all at sea at times, just goes to show that spending the big bucks doesnt always mean you are buying players worthy of the price tag

Stick the haters on ignore and interact with the good posters, that's the best way to do boards. Cold turkey is a killer!

Yes we could and should have ended it earlier. Lack of cohesion and rushing into shots. But that's football.
The important thing is that we got the 3 points.

It's stuff like this that leads me to believe the Wenger sends the players without a proper game plan and let's the players go out and do their own thing. You have to accept that the player has to make a decision on the pitch in a fraction of a second, and you have to accept that the game belongs to the players. You can educate them to make the right decisions but once they are on the pitch they are the ones who have to make the decisions.
Is this still a thing? Look at our big game successes over the past year, and the way we won them, and try saying that Wenger doesn't deserve any credit for them with a straight face.

    :pac:

    (I'd say you're delighted though!)

It's a theory- one I disagree with entirely

Incredibly minor IMO. Shooting success record in the first half was 100%. Hard to improve on that! Yes we missed chances in the 2nd half, but that's football. As long as chances are being created the goals will come.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,629 ✭✭✭wonga77

it is a minor flaw I know that, but its the small things that will all add up at the end of the season, as long as we keep creating the chances then we are fine but against the top sides especially we need to avail of every chance we get

I'm probably one of the negative posters on here which people are complaining about. I call it realistic, but I can understand how some call it negative.

When I give an opinion that is realistic negative however, I always do so in the hope that I am proven wrong, and I was last night. There was clearly a plan there, and it was implemented brilliantly. I'm never one to back away without admitting I'm wrong and Wenger proved me wrong last night.
