To be fair, I've played it on and off since it came out (2010?) and I've been a fan of the series since the first game.

Pity Beyond Earth and Starships were bordering on scams, so tiny was the amount of effort they seemed to put into them. I think its the same studio that does XCom so it wouldn't put me off future Civ games, but it would have me a little worried.

It'll be interesting to see where they go with 6. It's an issue with these games because you're going from a mature version with several expansions, dozens of bits of minor DLC and patches and balancing galore back to a vanilla version that can only have less content.
The community backlash is going to be at least as irritating as it was for the transition from 4 to 5.

And there's going to be the fatigue associated with ask already having put in 1500+ hours into it.

A lot of people playing the different Total war games, anyone interested over the Christmas in trying the coop campaign on the newer games (not sure what games people would have or want to try). Obviously the average campaign is too long and too much of a commitment to get the same people back together multiple times but even an unfinished campaign would be a laugh.

Think I'm nearly finished The Witcher now, just gotta finish off Javed :D He killed me, and I called it a night.

And I've now finished The Witcher :D

Nice, yeah, I'm re-playing the first Witcher game as well.
I'm using a really nice SweetFX profile which makes it look fantastic, especially with adding a HD texture mod & a HD characters mod to the game.

Righteo, onto Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Uploaded my save from The Witcher and started fresh, been ages since I played this and this time I get to use a controller :)

I also played a little of The Witcher Adventure Game, which is a desktop verion of the boardgame. It's just nowhere near as fun as getting some friends, dramatically reading out the quest cards, and having a laugh.

Been playing Sleeping Dogs the last week. Had it on the PS3 but picked up the Definitive Edition for Steam a while back. Still really enjoy it though. Always felt it was under appreciated. Love the Hong Kong setting too.

Just finished a playthrough of Fallout 1 over the weekend, moving onto clearing out some of the larger PS3 games in my backlog now.

Finished off Astebreed and Final Exam over lunch recently and popping in and out of Ubermosh now since there's no point in starting something new this side of Christmas.

I disagree. I used mouse/keyboard for Witcher 2 recently for some reason but switched to controller for Witcher 3. I usually hate controllers. I only bought it for dark souls. The Witcher lends to it perfectly.

There's a lot of games I prefer a controller for these days, so if I have the option I grab it. There's a lot of games I'd be happier playing with a controller that don't support it, so I'm seriously looking forward to getting my Steam Controller at Christmas. Keyboard and mouse is still going to rule for some games.

The other thing is that I had been suffering from RSI and gravitated towards my trusty Xbox360 controller because that was way more comfortable. New mouse mat with wrist support has helped a lot too, but I'll still go with a controller where I can.

Cleared Starcraft: Legacy of the Void at the weekend (which i really enjoyed, bar the last mission...****ing pillars!! :mad!!), and have gotten a bit bored with Fallout 4, so i'm playing Dying Light now. Really enjoying it, but i feel it might get a bit repetitive after a while. Think i'll try some non-open world games next, as i'm a bit worn out with them at the moment.

TW3 is fine, wasn't talking about that. TW2 had bad gamepad controls... it does not lend to it perfectly... or at least the PC version didn't.

TW2 is one of the first PC games I played on my new rig than made me throw my controller to the side and use KB/M. Now if it had been TW3 I probably would've stuck to gamepads a little longer.

Having no issues with the controller at all so far. The only problem I'm having really is getting used to such a completely different interface and gameplay since the first game.

Also gave Secret Ponchos a try because of the free week, and I'm a sucker for the spaghetti western setting, but sadly I don't think it was my kinda game.

Back to Warframe these days. It's one of the only 3 games (Lost Planet 2, MGSV) that make me reboot to Windows.

Playing it (WF) alone is a stinker so I'm on the mumble server more than ever these days.

Dying Light at the moment. Really enjoying it, and only about 20% through the main story.

Started playing the directors cut of Wasteland 2. Really like this more polished version of the game. Very nice of the developers to give the dc version for free to people who already owned it too. (Unlike some other games cough..State of Decay..cough)

Playing Cave Story+ at the min, it is quite a fun game but I am stuck at the min so will have to put the thinking cap on to figure it out.

Ap is apoapsis, the point on the orbit furthest from the body it's orbiting. Click on that to add a pro grade manoeuvre that will grow your orbit.

Sickness avoidance system. [SAS] turn it on. Depending on your design there may be some instability anyway.

So, I've been trying out my brand shiny new awesome STEAM CONTROLLER! :D

Tested it out with Darkest Dungeon, Invisible Inc. and FTL so far. I thought I'd have a harder time getting used to it, but damn I've pretty much just jumped right in there, fired up big picture mode and browsed some configs for each game and played away. It is awesome! I am having a very merry Christmas indeed! :D

How does it stack up against a 360 controller?

You did say up against, not on top of. You only have yourself to blame.
