It's a cracking looking E39 you own FN. Not surprising with the amount of detailing work you put into it!

Sound :) Needs a few mechanical bits done over the winter and small cosmetic bits but she'll be there soon :)

It'll be staying the low profile look, Just want to go with 18's as my tires are 250 a pop and wear out every few 000's kms due to the camber on the back :(

    225/40/R18 are a cheap size
8.5 inch wide rim i think

Anything with any less sidewall is a pain in the ass i find

Hello. You may or may not know, due to the Punto having rust on the bottom, I was unable to pass the NCT so I decided to get another car. This took weeks of searching due to my limited budget but I finally bought a replacement for the golden turd.

    Here we go...
It's a 2000 Ford Escort, 5 door hatchback with a 1.4 petrol engine and a 5 speed manual gearbox. It has 8 months NCT and has done less than 500 miles since it passed it. The previous owner had it since July 2006.

Current mileage is 137k. Timing belt has been done at 118k. The car feels very solid in corners. Apparently has been serviced just before the last NCT including new brake pads on the front.

Needs a little bit of tidying but it's a good car. It has OEM tape deck radio and an analog clock. :)

they had really had their day by the year 2000 but i actually really like them! black hatchback is definitely the best combination too, dad had one years ago and it was definitely one of the cars that really sparked my enthusiasm as a child. that 1.4 is a pushrod engine is it?

a set of those funny triangular alloys and it'd look great, looking forward to seeing how you go with it!

it's unfortunate that the car is already black, so you won't have much stuff to paint matte black :pac:

Nearly identical to my uncles one. He had it for yonks. Don't stand a gas bottle in the boot and close the lid. He found that out the hard way.

    Girlfriends latest car.

Loves it 10 x more than her TFSI TT. Unbelievably, it's also more reliable..

    1.4T 155bhp (apparently actually 162bhp)

    Some k&n & Pipercross additions.

best of luck with the new beast GvidoR

my stepdad had a few late 90s escort saloons so the interior brings back a lot of memories.

he even bought one brand new from harmonstown ford and they gave him a nifty engraved solid silver clock as a 'bonus' for our mantlepiece
