    DON'T MAKE UNNECCESARY JOURNEYS!

That Jurassic park meme is amazing.

Anyone notice the man walking casually behind her without a bother on him :D

    Treachous waterway is treachous!

Ah, the literary skill of the Fourth Estate...Hunter S Thompson would probably have shot her for that one.

In fairness, she's got a sense of humour about it anyway. Good on ya Teresa!

Past behind her as I was walking dog.
It was stormy. She was there for at least 30mins.
It was a small RTE van with back door lifted up and she and cameraman were standing under it doing filming.
I guess there was a good few takes to get it and hence she was wrecked and drenched.

    Stop talking sense, Andrea!

Not sure why exactly people are doubting her. You can see that it's very windy there. I have times in Ireland when I've not been able to stand up in strong winds and they wouldn't have been stronger than Storm Desmond was in some parts of the country.

And people saying "What's the big deal, I was in Galway that night". Were you standing outside the whole time? Because winds can pick up for short periods, say ten minutes or so.

And it's not really clear if the guy walking in the background was finding it tough going or not.

Talk about over acting, she really mikled that bit of wind for all its worth :D
...and the pained expression on her facer just added to the hilarity of it all.

She should get an Oscar for that.

    Couldn't agree more with this.

The wind didn't seem that bad in that broadcast.

    Then again I wasn't there.

Just seemed like alot of shouting.

My wife just watched the original youtube "Teresa moment" last night for the 1st time, with tears of laughter rolling down her face, as Teresa went doolally. Talk about over acting/drama Par excellence!

    It really is funny :D

I saw a story about her on the CBS Morning news in the US this morning.

You only had to look at the shrubbery being blown about in the background
to see how windy it was. Heard her interview on Ray D'Arcy. She sure has a good
sense of humour! Apparently, she was born during Hurricane Debbie! :D

It was a live segment. Very hard to do multiple 'takes' of a live segment.

+1. The insistence it's exaggerated seems kinda... dumb?

I could just easily say I think people are exaggerating how funny they find it too.

Just my opinion but it is funny for a few seconds - I don't get how people are still in tears laughing at the extreme hilarity of it days later.

Ah leave poor Teresa alone, it looked bad out there and it must not have been pleasant to report in those conditions. She was right to warn people about swimming in the water, that really is an idiotic thing to do. I found the clip quite funny and I can't stop watching the super ceili remix, the song is so catchy :D

Tell me about it  Total ear-worm - it's been going round in my head for DAYS! "Don't make unnecessary journeys, don't take risks on treacherous roads!" Aaaarrrghhh! It's like the fecking green-cross-code. Will never leave our public consciousness!

Arrah, there's always people like this, naysayers for no apparent reason, or to be appear superior or something. She might be hamming it up... but I doubt it. Does anyone seriously think Teresa was thinking to herself beforehand "Must find a way to go viral, MUST find a way to go viral"? And if they don't think that, why do they think she was hamming it up?

He was having a ****. I know I was. There's something about seeing women in danger which turns me on a great deal. Consquently, I'm banned from Fossets and Duffys.

Sorry if this was offensive to anyone. It was a tad insensitive looking back.

I think the whole Theresa Mannion thing was a joke. Should have been done from a studio with video clips of the weather. It was bad journalism. If my memory serves me correctly wasn't Theresa Mannion in kids TV years ago, and wasn't there a kafuffle when she and her fellow presenters lost their contracts and demanded compensation/jobs or something. Isn't that how she ended up as she terms it herself a 'hack'. Trouble is, I don't think she's a very good one.
