Did anyone see Teresa Mannion on the rte 6 news reporting from galway having to shout over the wind whilst holding on to her mike and hood with the rain spraying in her face, and all the time yer one in the cosy warm studio was asking her questions about the weather conditions :D

it'll go down in the annals of broadcasting history.

    Good ghirl Teresa

I actually felt sorry for her. Must have been very uncomfortable for her and she did superbly well to do her report although she mentioned motorway instead of roadway I think in relation to Crossmolina. Surely to god they could have let her do her report indoors. We know its wet and we know its windy!

What gobsh1te thought it was a good idea to do an OB in this weather. She could barely stand with the strength of the wind.
What a waste of money too come to think about it, sending a crew out for a live broadcast to tell us the weather is crap when all you need to fo is stick your head out the door.

Rte are going Fox news for the night. Have to stand in a flood or on a pier for dramatic effect. I'll have to catch the 9 pm news now! Hope she survives the apocalypse.

Talk about over acting, she really mikled that bit of wind for all its worth :D
...and the pained expression on her facer just added to the hilarity of it all.

She should get an Oscar for that.

If u think that's lame, I urge you not to view what Joe.ie consider worthy of reporting. From the way they were selling it I expected something like a scene from the perfect storm. In reality its basically a guy getting out car and crossing a puddle.

FOX material if I ever saw her.

It's only a matter of time before a weather reporter is gonna hit with a flying tree...stupid to be standing out in it.

Why are people pretending it's not that bad - they know it is. A storm isn't going to be given a name if it isn't anything much. The wind (and it's a lot more than "a bit of wind") on the west coast is strong enough to affect your speaking/voice. People are acting as if she's putting it on - would their speaking/voice not be affected or something?

What smug studio gombeen dumped a nice lady like Teresa Mannion out in the bad weather ?
    - She's gone up in my estimations, fair play to her.

There's a bloke in the background strolling around in a hoodie, walking in a completely balanced way. Behind the camera there's five blokes with hairdryers pointing them at Teresa to make it look much worse.

Its one of the weird conventions in live reporting - YOU MUST BE OUTSIDE.

Outside the Dail, outside the Four Courts, outside the Central bank, outside in all weathers because.......I dunno.
