No, not at all. It is completely unacceptable. I don't give a fuck what shit you want to pump your lungs with. Just keep it away from mine.

You must get really pissed off walking down a street and all those vehicles going past with their emissions that are a hell of a lot worse for you than someone vaping.

I don't smoke or vape. But I'm getting seriously p1ssed off with all this shyte.

Minimum price of can of beer 2 quid.

Severely restricting a mostly benign, rehabilitative nicotine delivery method.

And I heard that turnip Paschal Donohoe on the wireless this morning defending his proposed new Road Traffic offences, including having any trace of cannabis in your system landing you a 5 grand fine - despite the fact it remains in your system for 30 days and so you could in all likelihood be 100% compos mentis.

    TPD = tobacco product directive.

Basically vaping is going to become so heavily restricted that the most successful devices will be banned.

As to the original question - yes, I vape.

That's huge relief. I thought it was a possible side effect.

    Nah **** it.
I gave up smoking because it was the dependence I didn't like. Atleast if you run out of fags you can just go to the nearest 24hr petrol station. I dont want to have to carry some mad robots willy around with me everywhere I go.

The question was if it was acceptable indoors. Don't see too many cars revving up indoors.

I do however see plenty of twats sucking on a piece of plastic, imitating a block of dry ice and thinking they're great for having beaten the smokes

May I ask, are you a smoker?

You sound great craic. I bet you're a hit at parties.

Anyone who used to vape but stopped because they thought they looked like a twat, I pity you. What else do you not do because you're afraid of how people will perceive you?

Whenever I see someone vaping I feel like pointing at them and laughing and telling them they look ridiculous.

Think Alabama in the bathtub laughing at Virgil.

I've nothing to add to the topic as I don't smoke/vape but I seen a young street rat scumbag yesterday, I'd say he was about 14, tracksuit, baseball cap etc walking through a shopping centre vaping...boy did he look like he needed a smack in the face...with a chair.

Next time you see someone vaping you should point at them and laugh.

    I hope its me.

Vaping is the golden bullet to fix the problems created with smoking related diseases.

However so much tax revenue is being lost its being made into a scapegoat.

Nice to see the short sightedness of legislators.

I've tried e-cigs a few times, but the hit off it just isn't the same. I'll stick to the fags.

Every single Vaping thread..."Ya look like a right eejit sucking on your vape thingie".

    What the ever loving fcuk!!

Are you people fcuking 10 years old or what??

Yes, I was an addicted eejit who ended up smoking nearly 40 a day.
Now I'm a very healthy addicted eejit with €600 a month more in my pocket (€7,000 a Year)
I'm happy that the only downside of the switch was some morons think I look like an eejit sucking on my vape thingie.

I just want to understand why you people think we should care about what you think of how we look while vaping?? Whats the purpose of you people posting in every single vaping thread that you think we look silly?

It's not the same alright but then if you get good kit you adapt to it pretty quickly and the throat hit is also reliant on the nicotine content.

It got me off the smokes easily enough but I found then I was vaping almost all the time, the thing was hardly ever out of my mouth so I just kicked the vaping as well.

I'd still argue that you should give it another go assuming you want to give cigs up and if you do give it a couple of weeks on something decent before you make your mind up about vaping.

Calm down, calm down, smoke a joint or something...you may have €7000 a year extra in your pocket but it's no good to you when your blood pressure is through the roof as your getting so hot and bothered by what you think people think about you!

I shall take even greater pleasure next time I'm vaping in a pub knowing it pisses people like you off so much ;)

If wearing a propeller beanie stopped people smoking for whatever reason, It would be a good thing. Who cares how it looks.

It's not about perception. Vaping, indoors, in the company of others who don't want that crap in their face is twatish behaviour.

I don't give a shit about perceptions. Having said that, it's not exactly a flattering look but each to their own. Just have some consideration and go outside.

Ten years I'm posting on Boards and yet that's only the second time in a decade that I've felt the need to use the roll eyes. One minute you're lecturing others on the thread about how they shouldn't care about what other people think of how they look while they vape (how you "pity" them for doing so) and then the next, you're squaring up to someone (on the fcuking Internet) and suggesting you'd resort to violence if someone dared to laugh at you while you vaped. A touch hypocritical.

First of all, chill, don't take it so personally. Yeah, I think people look like spanners when they're vaping but sure there are lots of things which I do which bring out the inner Nelson in people. Tons of them, but that's life. I'll not be challenging anyone to a duel at dawn over it, that's for sure. Unless that is, they slag me over me Dexys Midnight Runners-esque Dungarees. Somethings are going too far.

I use them and went from a 20 a day habit to vaping almost exclusively I prefer it feel better too.

if you look at what you spend a week on smokes it becomes a very easy decision.

the initial outlay can be big but after that I am spending €12.50 on juice a week so the savings add up you can get a starter kit for 40 euro. get a second battery. I have reduced the nicotine content from 18 mgs to 12mgs and will go to the 6mg bottle in the new year.

I've been vaping for 4 years now, and while yet I don't smoke anymore, I probably consume more nicotine that I did as a smoker.

The other big issue I have is the taste, it's grand at first, but the more you smoke each day the worse it get. When I sweat I smell the e-liquid. When I eat something all I taste it the e-liquid.

I get bad migraines using it too, after a heavy day of usage I will be in pain from the nicotine.

So yes, I don't smoke anymore, but this thing is worse and with these new regulations coming in it's going to be a nightmare.

Yeah it looks silly but tbh I don't care, I didn't exactly look good sucking the life out of a Carrolls either.

As for using it indoors, in pubs and the like - I'll ask permission. if I'm allowed, I'll be discreet (i don't use any set up that produces tonnes of vapour, I only use that type at home). If I'm not, I'll go outside.

If it's allowed in certain places and permission has been sought and granted, I certainly wouldn't go outside lest I offend you.

If they help people get off the smokes, then fair play. Though I do wonder about the sheer amount being vaped. My friends who have it never seem to be off the bloody thing. And I don't see how anyone could keep track while having one on a night on the booze.

I'm a smug ex smoker though, so I can look down my nose at everybody. Which is nice.

All women look sexier when they're smoking. Even Dot Cotton.
