Shop-bought I would have to say Spekulatius. Home-made it would be Vanillekipferl.

I don't associate chocolates with christmas at all.

Out of the stereotypical ones - Quality Street, I love me some strawberry creme ones, and my husband absolutely hates them so more for me :D

My real favourite is a packet of the small tasting bars of Green and Black's though!

The strawberry creme ones in the Roses tub are mighty!

Lindort in the red box, one with a hot cup of tea.

Ferrero Rocher. I never liked Quality Street (apart from the green triangle, obviously) and Roses are nothing like they used to be. I'd never buy them. Celebrations are grand because they have the Malteaser and the Galaxy Truffle, if it's still in them.

But Ferrero Rocher are consistently good.

What are your thoughts on the orange creme ones?

You can't be including Danish butter cookies and chocolate Mikado. If that's the case Tunnocks win.

Nothing else comes close to the chewy chocolate orangey yumminess of a box of these. I keep them in the fridge and tend to dip in as I'm passing. (I have notions of trying to restrain myself but it doesn't work)

And I only ever have them at Christmas. yummmm

I always thought it was like eating caramels wrapped in eggshells. Ugh

Sorry for the lack of options. These were the main things as I was growing up. I still get these. Ha.

Had to look up those lemon things. I'm a bit young for them. Eeek.

That's what you got back in the day. And the nice ones were gone in 2 hours and the glassy fruity ones lasted the week.

The glassy fruity ones were the only nice ones in my opinion!

I love the coffee/black cherry/strawberry Roses fans - most of the time those are the very sweets that are left behind, yet you get the occasional trouper who loves them, and will happily clean out the box for you. Christmas's unsung heroes! :D

I used to like Roses - especially the caramel keg, when it was wrapped in foil, and the thin Dairy Milk one, before they made it chunky and cumbersome.

I much preferred when they were wrapped in foil :(

Most of the Celebrations are fantastic, EXCEPT for the bounties which nobody eats

If it wasn't for the abominable Bountys, it would be Celebrations.

I'll remain undecided as long as they're still in Celebrations.

What the hell is wrong with you people???? The Bounties are the best thing in the box!

I didn't realise that Lemons still made sweets, we always had a big box of them at Christmas when I was a kid. Everything got demolished apart from the liquorice toffees, which were mank.

But imo you can't beat a box of After Eight. I could happily eat a whole box in one sitting. Probably explains why I'm now diabetic. :o

I'm no fan of sweet stuff but I'll have a few of the hard fruit ones that come in the glass bottles, whatever you call them. It's hard to beat a good suck at Christmas.

    You enjoy sucking hard things?

    Who doesn't?

First thing I do when I get a box of Celebrations is remove the Bounties. There is nothing (literally nothing) worse than reaching for the Celebrations a few days after Christmas and there's nothing left, apart from a load of discarded wrappers and Bounties.

Incidentally, it should be legal to kill people who put the wrappers back in the box.
