I think we have progressed slightly In certain ways but I'm still met with the overwhelming feeling of same old same old, I can't help that.

We're still falling short, we are still suffering with the plague, we are still struggling against weaker teams, we still can't beat Chelsea even If they're dreadful this year etc etc etc. That's not being negative I'm just stating facts.

On a positive side we beat United and Bayern, we are still In the title race and we have a solid goalkeeper I can't think of too much more, I certainly wouldn't be using a make believe table to measure progress.

This is somewhat how I feel too, but I certainly do feel that we are moving (albeit a little too slowly for my liking) in the right direction. Wenger never rushed into things, so I guess we should expect that at this stage!!! The Chelsea loss sticks in me too. We fell for Jose and Costa antics and took the bait. Very disappointed by that reaction.

As for the table, I do think it shows we have improved our consistency, just these injuries (or the plague, as you called it :-) ) are fecking us over again and again! I wouldn't be using it as a show of success. There's only one table for that IMO!

Spanish press is saying that we've bid €19million for Nolito. Barca are also interested in the forward but only want him on loan until the end of the season, so seemingly we are in the front seat for him...

Jesus, I just read that with Google translate, and now I have a migraine.

Anyone know him? Is he any use? Is he Danny type player?

I'm not going to pretend I know him cause I don't but his goal scoring record doesn't impress me too much :o

34 goals in 81 league games for Celta whilst playing on the wing is pretty impressive.

It looks like both Ramsey and Ozil missed training before heading out to Greece. If they are both missing tomorrow then Europa league, here we come !

Good enough to be picked for the Spanish national team - seems like he's a late developer

They both travelled anyway. Hopefully precautionary.

Was he on the wing for every game or are you just assuming? He's a striker according to the papers saying we are In for him and his record Is App:345 Goals: 118 5 caps for Spain and 0 goals.

Don't get me wrong I'm not writing him off or saying that that's a particularly bad record cause It's not especially If the majority of his time Is spent on the wing. But what Is he a left winger or a striker? and Is he the best we can do, you get me?

Balague saying we have zero interest.

I really don't listen to him. He knows his football, but his "ITK" has often proved very wide of the mark.

http://www.whoscored.com/Players/91267/ left winger and what's the point in taking his career stats? Last 2 years are definitely more relevant. We need a right winger more than a left winger tbh

He looks decent so, It's all relevant really. To be honest I'd prefer a striker to a winger In our current situation but If he can play well up there too then great.

Anyone talking about improvement has to take account of Ozil and Sanchez, they are a great improvement.
Our defence has been very poor for a long time, leaking and gifting goals.
Our forward players have been average. Squandering a high percentage of the chances created.
Our injuries are still killing us.
Success is measured on trophies won and how important the trophy is.
Beating United was great. Losing to WBA was poor.

For me the goal is to win the EPl.
    CL is next.
    FA Cup after that.
League Cup is bottom of the pile.

We have been average for too many years. Other teams being average too doesn't really make us any better than we were. Little improvement made. We need major investment. Players in and a weed-out required.

    More of this please!!!

Screw Chelsea, if you look at the teams around Arsenal and how they've faired against them:

    Leicester City (A) 2-5
    Manchester City (H) N/A
    Manchester United (H) 3-0
    Tottenham Hotspur (H) 1-1
    Crystal Palace (A) 1-2
    West Ham United (H) 0-2
    Liverpool (H) 0-0
    Everton (H) 2-1
    Watford (A) 0-3

This is their results against the current top 10 as it stands 17/24 points. The've also won all 3 games away to top 10, that's a good return! Average is slightly worse against the bottom 10 but that's where most of the away games have come.

Nolito - would love to see him at the Emirate, would be a great buy.
I watched him alot this season, I love La Liga.
He is in the mould of a Sanchez or a Suarez. As Johnny Giles would say when talking of a goal scorer, 'would he kill his granny to score a goal' and yes this guy would.

A few weeks ago Celta Vigo were sitting top of La Liga, no mean feat. considering they have a terrible discipline record and constantly end games with only 10 men.

18 million for a 29 year old. Who is peaking and would have every reason to give his all for the last few seasons, Id say hes worth it.

Does this mean we are entering the crazy January transfer window shop fest. I wish UEFA just did a Black Friday or Cyber monday thing, put everyone up for sale and get your bargains all in one day.

Draxler tearing Utd apart here. Looks a terriffic player.

Just watching the United game and Draxler is handing them their asses at the moment. I know he has only signed for Wolfsburg but surely it's worth a punt :D

Yep for the last two seasons. Looking at him he'd fit in perfectly with the team and he's the age that Wenger likes (hmmm that sounds dodgy!).

Who have we not been linked to?

Draxler and Griezmann in and Ox and Campbell out in Jan :D

I would take deulofeu looks a cracking player

We weren't just linked with him, we made contact with Schalke and his agent but the deal fell through. Draxler confirmed all this.

Probably for the best.. He's very injury prone and if we bought him we might not have jumped at Sanchez.

Excellent player...with Catalan DNA lol. Seriously good player though but loves a tumble.

I watched that United game and I have to say I feel sort of sorry for them , They tried and they have a lot of injuries but that game is a damning indictment of the BPL at the moment Wolfsburg were simply a better team pure and simple

Uniteds failings though in fairness came against the poorer teams in the group, I only hope to god same doesn't happen to us tomorow

I wont give up on Ox just yet. He's having a bad run but he is a better player then this.

Easiest group in the CL, £250m+ spent, no sympathy whatsoever
