Much if any delays at Dublin today? It's pretty tough out there again ...

Nope. Wind is ample for RWY16 so there's been almost no issues.

Why would that have diverted to Manchester as opposed to Dublin or Shannon?

FR807 appears to be holding at Knock.

Edit: Just looks like a small loop to drop altitude. Appears to be on approach now

I would say maybe something to do with weather. For Dub, would the 340 by limited taking off on rwy 16??

Sorry, just seen its a 330😳

Several factors to consider when diverting that means the nearest airfield isn't always the best choice, particularly in a medical emergency case rather than an immediate safety risk.

Landing weight, height to lose, time for adequate briefing for an unfamiliar airfield and approach, weather, handling...

Thanks for the reply, wasn't sure hence the question. Not too educated on these matters, but curious all the same.

EI175 (EIN17R) seemed to have a go-around a few mins ago. Probably instructed by ATC.

Broke off on finals due to Cityjet Avro still on the RWY and needing more time, took about 8 minutes from lining up until it actually started rolling

    EI639 / EIN63K and EI213 / EIN213 gone around

Not great at the 16 ops are they? I'm going to float a theory or two as these have already happened today.

    1. Aircraft not ready for takeoff after lineup.
    2. Landing aircraft missed the taxiway turn.

Ryanair considering a diversion now, holding time around 20-30mins.

EK164 holding short of RWY16 for take off. Yet the earlier Etihad (A332) took off from RWY28.

FR341 (RYR7MG) diverting to Liverpool. I always wonder about these different island diverts.

Here's an interesting one hearing this on ATC now :"Contact Dublin Holding controller!"

That incoming traffic is heavy tonight! Is it because of the switch of runway from 28 to 16?

Didn't think 16 ops were that bad! In the summer it has hardly been this bad?
