Disgusting thug robs churchgoers at gunpoint during prayer service

A masked gunman threatened and robbed 40 people as churchgoers in Dublin feared they were involved in an ISIS terror attack.

The incident occurred at around midday on Sunday, when a man, armed with a sawn-off shotgun began threating worshippers after barging into the local enterprise centre in Ballymun.

Around 40 people, including children, were praying when the gunman robbed them and left the area in a car belonging to one of the congregation.

Worshippers feared an ISIS-style terror attack and a witness told the Irish Sun: "The first thing I thought when he came in was an IS thing because of what happened in Paris".

Honestly very depraved.

But on another note, how hopped up on the media hype machine do you have to be to see a man with a sawn off in the "Mun of all places and think "ah jaysis it's ISIS!" ****ing hell, the terrorists have truly won.

I think a masked man with a gun in a church in this day and age could possibly be associated with ISIS. 30 years ago the same association could be made regarding loyalists or republicans terrorists de depending on which community were doing the praying.

Interesting point, do you think that if this happened 30 years ago in Ballymun people would've thought it was loyalists? I wouldn't have thought so, but I wasn't alive then. It'd be a solid bet in a Catholic church up North pre GFA but in the "Mun?

Aye, couple of years ago took this Scottish cousin to the bank with me. We were coming out as the cash in transit guys with the army escort pulled up. Got in my car and looked around for the cousin, they were cowering behind a postbox with their hands in the air. People that aren't used to having guns pointed at them can react funny to having them pointed at them. Funnily enough.

Well you wouldn't exactly expect an armed robbery on a church, I mean how much money would there be compared to an offie etc.

Yeah but in an offie you'd have some old Jewish guy with a 44 magnum or a Korean locked and loaded. Churches are like restaraunts, full of people with wallets and not expecting it. You just have to hope you don't run in to to 2 hitman having a quick pray after a hard day.

Was it a church or was it a local enterprise centre? Or is the church in the local enterprise centre?
