They are forecasting up to 4 inches in the west. We could do with it. Place is parched here,

So lots of hype in the weather reports and just a normal winters night so?

Turning out to be a bit more than a normal winter event here anyway. Gonna spend the day drying off 40 cows

We are getting very excited about very little these days. Was a bit rough last night but nothing extraordinary. Cavan-Monaghan-Fermanagh area
The danger is they will dilute the value of storm warnings, because people won't take any notice. I think it is a phenomenon known as 'crying wolf' too often. :)

Some weather here in Galway. Allot of raw emotions this morning feeding a few heads we still have out. As for portwest, water proof products me hole

Lots of flooding round here too (Roscommon Mayo boarder) it's far from "normal" weather. The problem with the warnings is the weather varies too much across the country so when people aren't affected the warnings seem extreme. This time for us the warnings rung true while last week the warnings weren't applicable to us as it was the east that got the battering while it was just bad weather here in the west.

We were up to our waists in water this morning saving 4 heifers that were at risk of getting stranded that surely warrants an orange or red weather warning status.

Saw a few places flooded today, that I haven't seen flooded for years.
River in Cave town getting VERY near the top of the cut.
To add to the drama, on the approach road, a young one in a Civic tried to drive under a small lorry heavily loaded with Christmas trees. Only stopped when the nose of the car met the back axle of the truck. Chaos, and a very wet Garda doing point duty.

Was listening to BBC radio two in the car there now, parts of Yorkshire forecast to get 8 inches of rain between tomorrow and Monday ! :D

Dry here in Clonakilty. Bandon town centre is closed off. Passed through at 7.30 but floods were coming up through drains. Fire brigade out. Passing through on my return at 10.00 a good share of the main street under water. Road from Bandon to Innishannon closed. Probably going to get worse. The town never fully recovered from the 09 flooding.

ya well thats what folk have to put up with over inability to disturb river beds prone to flooding, An Tasice will consider that flooding of no consequence to humans, 40 years ago all such river beds would be cleared
what i should also add is that time, i.m.o. they didnt have the pile driving and other technology and equipment so readily available to build on floodplains such as the location of River View Shopping centre in Bandon
