If Wenger is trying to fill our gaps with loanees then we are in trouble.
We require fully committed players on full contracts.
This covering your gaps with a loanee or two is just the cheap way and you rarely get a good player.

Ture but there's a couple of factors that may push us in that direction.

1: Good players rarely move in Jan
2: No-one starting for a European international team will move to potentially sit on the bench behind Coq in the run up to the competition.

I think we'll either get a loan like Raibot, a kid like Neves or a notquitegoodenough like M'Vila.

or maybe there's a high quality south american DMF out there

Lassana Diarra is playing some good football this season, maybe we could give him a shout :p

But we have bought loads of good players in Jan in the past.
What better way for a good player to get noticed for the WC than to come out and say I moved to Arsenal to better my career. I don't put much store in the Jan window, it's as important as any other. I have doubts about Wenger spending big in Jan myself but it is surely his downfall if he doesn't.

For anyone thinking we HAVE buy in January I have two words for you.

    Kim Kallstrom.

Exactly. There may not be any super-stars available but there are undoubtedly some very good players out there who'd be only too happy to join Arsenal.

Chelsea bought Matic in Jan and he's a very good player.
Liverpool bought Suarez in Jan and he's good too.
City bought Dzeko in Jan. Not bad either.
United bought Mata in Jan. I like him too.

Always good players about in Jan if you're willing to go and get them.

It's all well and good using Monreal as an example of a good January signing, but how long did it take before people thought he was a good signing? Definitely took a good while.

We need someone to come in and perform straight away.

Jan has nothing whatsoever to do with a player being in form when he arrives.

This is a very good read, add Walcotts Movement going forward I think he could hit double figures easy and ignite a title challenge

All I'm saying is plenty of people thought Monreal was a donkey for a good while, now he's being used as an example of a good signing.

If we do sign someone, and they turn out to play like absolute rubbish, I'm glad some supporters are realistic enough to wait a year or so for them to find form :p

Cazorla had surgery on his knee

That's his season gone id say

    I agree.

If you're demanding someone come in and perform straight away, then they have to be from the PL.

M'Vila or De Jong or someone like that would be the best we can do.

A DM's job is nearly the same in whatever league you play in.
Not a lot of settling in to be done there imo.

At least 3 months being reported. Probably March.

If theo doesn't get injured again before the seasons out.

    I'm not joking.

I've pretty much given up hope of Wilshere ever having a lasting influence for us. Guy is just too brittle.

Its hard to believe he can stay fit for a long period of time alright unless he tailors his game. Hes so talented though even if he can put one full season together he could have a huge influence.

nice win, hard fought victory, not pretty but every title winning team of the last 10 yars ahs won ugly plenty of times.

Glad to see a few squad players stepping in and doing a job, doesnt have to be a world class job, just a PL job.

Plenty twists and turns togo in this season yet.
Looking forward to see what Wenger buys, I think theres still plenty creativity in the side, we dont neccessarily need another creative player, a 28yr old Arteta someone like that. Someone to stabilise the spine of the team and allow a few other players including full backs to bomb on a bit more and contribute to offset the loss of Sanchez.

Perhaps a change in style would not go amiss either. no point expecting this team to go out and play like the Arsenal First Choice 11. Wenger needs to manage them thru this period. Theres plenty things he can work on to compensate for loss of such players.

Wouldn't mind pinching a couple of lads from PSG. Rabiot is rumoured to want a loan move and he would be a very useful addition to our squad. We're linked with Lucas Moura too, very exciting player on his day.

Cazorla update: 3 to 4 months

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed midfielder Santi Cazorla could be sidelined for up to four months after rupturing the lateral collateral ligament in his knee.

Watched PSG vs Real a few weeks ago and Rabiot was brilliant. If hes getting his game there, it really would be very difficult to push through a move for him. Ive no idea if he starts week in week out though. He would be an ideal foil for Ramsey though imo.

Cabaye from Palace would be someone that would probably fit that mould.

At least 50% of that was down to Mike Dean though.

after that game is the start of their downfall.. so i would gladly take it. It was scoreless until we were down to 10men.

yea i am basically slating chelsea meaning not even the west brom defeat was more upsetting then the chelsea one :)

Chelsea by far the worse team in the league at the moment

Lets not get to ahead of ourselves, they are still the current champions. And on their day can beat anyone. Lets not forget that. On the 23rd of January, i certainly wont be expecting a walk over
