Not sure why people think Higuain would solve any of United's problems in the current set up. If Rooney was given the chances he has this season he'd be scoring them. It's a player to get the ball to the strikers and wingers in a position to score that's needed.

I was reading those tweets you posted, and thinking yeah, yeah as in that is believable, then a huh for the last one...Rooney not injured????

LVG basically said he's undroppable so it's not unbelievable he claimed an ankle injury to cover the fact he's dropped.

The one thing we've to look forward to now is the excuses that Rooney has to play himself back into form after being out of the team.

    1. No its not, thats a crazy statment.

    2. No he won't. Not a chance, even without a title.

Moyes was an exception. LVG is on target, we are in the title race, we beat Wolfsburg we top our UCL group. Even if both of those don't pan out the Glazers will let him see out his contact and I would like to see that happen.

Good for you, you're sticking by your guns and you're resolute in your beliefs.

You could be a candidate for election in some countries for that alone. :p

I understood the LVG appointment to be something different. I assumed he would steady the ship and create a team the fans could get behind enthusiastically again while mentoring Ryan Giggs as his successor.

Neither of those seem likely at this point and whatever the Glazer grand plans
it's football/financial reality which will dictate the manger's job security.

If Rooney actually spent some time getting into the opposition box he might score a few, standing deep then playing his default pass out wide then staying still won't get him on the end of crosses or balls into the box. He's the only #10 I've seen that seems to think he's barred from running into the box.

    Rooney hasn't been given chances?

Sure Kyle Walker had to show Rooney what he should have done with the ball.

    Stupid, stupid utter stupid statement,

He's the best advertising salesmen in the World probably, but his transfer dealings are appalling.

His first summer set my opinion a bit so maybe I'm being biased in assessing his transactions since. What are his better transfer deals that maybe I'm not giving due credit to?

    Rooney hasn't been given chances?

But can Higuain spray a 40 yard diagonal pass to the wing then be too knackered to make a burst into the box to give the winger a target?

The one thing LVG deserves a A+ for is how much better we look when defending now. Last year we were a shambles only for DDG. We got bit lucky at times, but overall look a very solid unit and I'm confident when opposition have ball that we won't give away anything silly.

Playing two holding midfielders in front of a back 4 isn't exactly something a manager of a top team shoudnt be praised much for.

In fact, LVG is getting far too Much credit for it. We also have the best keeper and center half in the league which goes a long way.

This negative set up has cost us going forward.

What would LVG do if we are in this league position with 2 or 3 games to go and all to play for?

In fairness to him, his first summer he was thrown in at the deep end, he stumbled but he has since found his feet like anyone starting a new job for the first time.

Would say Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Memphis, Darmian are some of the better deals Woodward has pulled off.. Would somewhat credit him for DDG staying put as well..

But that's just my 2 cents.

So you already know he isn't a disaster if you say he is the best at advertising.

He isn't the only one involved in transfers by the way.

Regardless of who is the blame for the current lack of quality in our team, I don't think Any realistic fan can say that the money spent in recent years, has been anywhere close to standard.

Our current squad, apart from perhaps 2004-2006 is the worst we've had since 1988, the attacking 4 that started yesterday is one of the worst I've seen in a game where we didn't have an injury crisis and we potentially were playing for top spot at kick off.

The fact that Fellaini and Lingard are starting big games for United at the moment is a very poor reflection of a club who has spent £320m in two years.

It's going to take another ,£200m to make up for The mess that's been created, do people really trust our club right now to get it right?

It appears now our ambitions are bigger off the pitch as opposed to on it. Once we inevitably go out of the CL and perhaps drop to 5th or 6th, maybe the penny will drop on those behind the scenes.

Try to take over the world?

Pity we sold Pinky to PSG. Oh wait no it isn't.

If Leicester are still top by January 31st I'll eat my hat.

It has been effective so far in some areas, see highest avg possesion and clean sheets.

That's great but we are 4th in the league and have to win on Wednesday to stay in the CL.

But who cares, we have the most possession.

DDG staying was a masterstroke if he's still with us this time next year, but if he leaves for a minimum fee agreed in his recent contract next summer it could be seen as at best a delaying action or at worst a petulant act of sabotage involving a fax machine. The jury is out on that for now.

Are any of the others personnel that Tottenham couldn't have signed, including the manager?

He set the standard of signings himself with his early promises. He's been much quieter lately but we're not goldfish. A new face to front transfers might take the pressure off him and the club.

Do people here expect us to be still in the champions league this time next week?

I can't see us winning in Germany, so we are relying on CSKA to be honest. As things stand, I think it's safe to say Wolfsburg and PSV are favourites to go through.

Question for you lovely ladies and gents, does Rockman post here anymore?

He has steadied the ship. 7th to 4th, back into the UCL. 4th to mounting a title challenge all done. Who says he isn't mentoring Giggs? Bizzare statement? He hired him as his assistan.

Some fans, me, are behind the team. All of what you said he hasn't done he has.

You just ignored the list of know qaulity players I mentioned? He is not anything close to appaling at transfers. You don't know what your talking about frankly.

    Yes

We're Man Utd, wearing the shirt gives an extra 5% performance in attack.

The gameplan was much improved yesterday. I think LVG knows his job is on the line with this game. Utd will attack and win.

Honestly get the feeling some people in here would be happy enough to see us get knocked out of the CL just to be able to have a go at LVG

Oh there is no doubt about that.

Of course, if we do fail to get out of this group he will certainly face some valid criticism also as he has to be accountable for the failure also.

Personally, I don't think we will win on Tuesday, but I most certainly hope I'm wrong.

I just don't think we are good enough, but I been wrong fair few times this year and hope it continues.
