Have you tried using the gesture control to launch the camera? Works every time.

Yeah, the screen has to be off for that. Double tapping to open was handy when it worked.

Ah I see. I didn't even realise that you could customise the double tap on the home button. I've added that to mine now and it's working well.

I was quoted around 150-160 from various places around the country.

Eventually sent it back to OP and got a completely new replacement phone for 180. Couriered to and from my gaff to china.

mad money, but at least it's fixed. Screen and phone protectors in use now

Tried tethering on my oneplus two for the first time at it won't let me do it. If I click the slider tab thing the option just greys out. Any idea why folks?

I'm on the three network if that makes a different. Had no problem tethering on my nexus 5.

    Hi all,
I'm not sure that my problem can be sorted as it's probably a result of the type of screen the OPT has. I'll try to explain the issue the best I can.

I used to own a SGS4 and ran an app called 'Night Clock' at night. The app displays the time in a 'digital' font in a slection of colours against a black screen.

my room is fairly dark and when I looked at the screen, all i saw was the digits, I could never make out the edge of the screen or black background.

My problem with the OPT is the screen is quite bright even when displaying blacks. Any solution to this? I suspect it's just a result of the screen being what it is. ??

Could it be related to the issue I had with the automatic screen brightness? Try to switch that off in your settings and see if it helps.

Cant image so. I've had it turned off since I got it. Although turning it off doesn't really do anything.

    Hi all,

I didn't want to create a new thread and I hope it's okay to ask in here, but coming up to Christmas and I'm faced with the OnePlus 2 vs OnePlus X question.

Now from doing some research online it seems difficult to get anyone to really split them. Trusted Reviews and Tech Radar to name but two essentially sit on the fence and there's plenty of more that do too.

So what say the people of Boards?

Price is not a consideration as it'll be a present.

    Thanks.

One is a big flagship, the other is a medium sized budget phone, shouldn't really be compared, they're not in the same category

As MD says they're not really competing with each other. They may both get 4 stars in reviews but that's based on their rating in their own bracket.

I've not held the OPX yet but it looked a terrific little phone for the money, but the OP2 is a whole other ball game. I think the cost difference between them is under 200€ so I'd go for the OP2 if price isn't an object.

The SGS4 has an AMOLED screen, which means that any pixels displaying black are completely turned off. The Oneplus uses an LCD screen, which doesn't turn the pixels off. So there's nothing that can be done about this.

I recently lost my phone and I'm looking for a replacement. Thinking of getting the Oneplus 2.

Are there any major drawbacks? I'm not really bothered about the lack of NFC and don't care about camera quality. I'd like decent quality front facing speakers if possible.

    Yeah, that's what I thought,

    Cheers.

Another issue I'm having is with the bluetooth connecting to my Ford Focus audio. It drops it's connection every 10 seconds or so, It's comes back after a second or two - but it basically renders the bluetooth connection to my car useless.

    Any ideas?

Speakers are on the bottom of the OPT.

Shame, not a complete deal breaker though.

Do you have a battery saver mode or something like that on?

I think there's only one speaker too despite there being two grills.

The sound is pretty good on it though.

Looks like I've solved the Bluetooth problem through a combination of checking 'receive all file types' in the Bluetooth settings and restarting my car stereo while connected to a call via Bluetooth.

I also downloaded the app 'Bluetooth phone book (trial) and mashed a few of the settings with fist. Dunno if this actually helped. But meh.

Look like the only small gripe I have with the OPT, is the lack of Amoled screen, which, to be honest isn't a deal breaker at all. It only affects the night clock, which I've now gotten used to not using at all.

Have they sorted out the issue where a new thread will be created when someone replies to the text you sent instead of it going to the initial thread that is created when the message is sent?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,477 ✭✭✭newbie2

    mine seems to working fine.

I have that, it only seems to affect the first message to a person though, all subsequent ones are grouped in their reply conversation (provided you use it).

I have that and it shows their phone number as opposed to their name on the thread.

One thing that annoys me is when browsing numbers in my phone book for a text, it removes the leading 0 but that's just a minor annoyance!

Don't know i this has been asked before but I cannot connect to Three UK on my OP2 - Any ideas why?

Firstly - I live right along the border and Three UK is the best signal most of the time in my house so the free roaming is great but more importantly I work in London during the week and fly home every weekend and need Three UK signal obviously!

Also - how to setup fingerprint sensor?

Settings, scroll down to personal, click on 'fingerprint', follow instructions.

As for three UK, you may need to contact three themselves about that. I presume you pay for 'three like home'. Alternatively, you could get another Sim card from the UK.
