Hernandez would have done a job if he was still around! :(

We're not going to get a sniff of any silverware if this **** doesn't come to an end.

With City losing we had to win this game and unsurprisingly we ****ed it up.

We need to invest in a game changer. We look so average and boring.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭spiralism

A must win game, not won. No excuses the players should hang their heads in shame, I know, I know, I am supposed to blame the manager and mock his phrases etc and there will be plenty of that done over the next 48 hours by plenty of users don't worry.

Today the players let themselves, the fans and the manager down. They wasted opportunity after opportunity to win that game. It is not good enough and they need to sort this **** out.

Now let the manager bashing begin.

I'm getting immensely frustrated with Lingard at this rate. Third game out of this run of ****e 0-0s where he's blown at least one gilt edged opportunity. Just screams of another Welbeck to me. Just what we needed after all, another forward who cant finish.

If LVG comes out and harps on about the possession and the chances that the team had then he is exactly what Dunphy said he is,a spoofer

West Ham had the better chances,

Smalling and DDG are the only players worth talking about

Reid MOTM,he was very good for West Ham,he was linked with Arsenal in the summer, the way he played today himself and Smalling would be a very good CB partnership

In saying that the problems for Utd arent at the back

LVG will be blamed, but that was the players today.

20 chances, a lot of them pretty decent. That was all about players lacking the composure needed in front of goal.

It wasn't actually that bad, but for club of United stature, it was nothing near level you could ask for.

I still can't believe they didn't score, we were very lucky to get a draw. It took 80 minutes to get going today, and we were at Old Trafford.

I would agree if we haven't had 5 0-0 in the last nine. So it is the managers fault. He got rid of RVP and Hernandez.

Last I heard, RVP can't get a game at the Turkish club. He was dire and it was 100% the right decision to let him go. Hernandez, I'll agree to, but he too had been dire for the few games he played, and I'm guessing wasn't happy to play third fiddle to Martial and Rooney.

I can appreciate the negativity towards LVG based on 5 games, and am there with you. But based solely on today, that was a player issue.
You're talking about the West Ham players right? Because we should have lost that game.

What? **** off. They had a few good chances they should have scored in the first half, but we had far more in the second; Fel, Martial, Mata and Lingard all had shots from 6 yards out they should have buried. We dominated the second half of the game, while they looked happy to take the point by the end. Should have been 4-3, but by the end, I'd say we deserved to win it if not for the dreadful finishing on display.

Manchester United's last six home games:

    0-0
    0-0
    1-0
    2-0
    0-0
    0-0

Boring, boring Man Utd. Got to feel sorry for the fans. 3 goals in 6 home games is shocking

So glad I didn't watch that.

If we go out of the CL then LVG will be under massive pressure come next week - OT is starting to turn on this type of football, if he loses OT then he might never get it back.

Who would have thought on deadline day when we had a chaotic firesale of all of our forwards and took a punt on a kid that we'd have serious trouble scoring goals?

Oh right, absolutely everyone would have. This season is enormously frustrating so far, huge missed opportunity

It's only going to go one way. Van Gaal will be sacked. A matter of when rather than if. So much money spent and such a sparse squad.

    Still sliding down the mountain.

I'm a 'neutral' but it was a good game.

People will fall over themselves to use the tag "boring". It was anything but, and it cries of lazy critiquing tbh. There was a lot wrong with the play today, but it wasn't "borning" at all...

Kew, it was terrible stuff - West Ham should have been out of sight at HT.

1 shot on target out of 21 is absolutely desperate stuff. We upped the tempo about 3 times in the whole game and looked dangerous then reverted to type and slowed everything down again making it easy for West Ham to get everyone behind the ball.

Look at how sh1t Liverpool were under Rogers. The majority of the Liverpool squad apart from Coutinho looked like very average players. Now under Klopp almost every single Liverpool player looks a completely different animal.

LVG is the fcuking problem. This conservative possession obsessed footballing strategy is the problem. The players are afraid to lose the ball hence our massive amount of sideways and backwards passes.

We only started looking lively today when Memphis came on. That was far too late in the game. The first 70 minutes were appalling. Fair enough Martial should of put away the chance created by Memphis but he was feeding off scraps all match up until then. Lingard and Mata were both shocking.

Now we have to watch the same insipid bullsh1t away to Wolfsburg where we will most likely limp out of the Champions League off the back of another 0-0.

There is no sign of LVG changing his core principal of keeping possession. Talks of signing attacking players who can create moments of magic to solve our impotent attack might work once in a while but it is not a sustainable strategy. The LVG system might be fine defensively but it has failed miserably attack wise. Every team in the league knows how to play against us at this stage. We need a different approach and I cannot see it happening while LVG is at the club. The boos at the Stretford End are becoming a regular occurrence and with good reason.

I said in the past couple of days that our attack is nothing special, and that is excluding Martial and Memphis, since they are new and young, and that the attack needs major investment.
A top class proven striker, and someone for the right wing, Mahrez had another great day for Leicester.

This is what annoyed me the most. Spurs played quick football against West Ham last week and cut them open each time. We played slowed and on some rare occasions when we upped the tempo we started to get at them. That should have been the way we played from the beginning.

It's now coming to a stage that if we don't score early I just don't see us getting a win.

I don't have a problem with the players LVG sold, they weren't delivering.
We didn't get the players we wanted as the clubs wouldn't sell.

January is looking like it will be a big spending month for the club.

It wasn't good enough I will say that, but we should have scored few ourselves. Problem seems be the sheer crawling pace of our play

We started getting at them when Carrick started fizzing balls forward.

I think he was the major difference between our first and second half play. He was playing so great balls forward when he came on. Just weren't able to do anything with them.

Didn't even watch the match....but going on what's been posted lindgard missing a ball of chances yet again. Repeat my points from last week. We don't have that world class striker anymore

This is ridiculous. You are coming to conclusions about a player's performance when you didn't even see the game.

We will break transfer records in January. Certain of it.

Regarding Carrick versus Schneiderlin: They're very similar players imo. Carrick is better technically, on the ball and defending, but Schneiderlin is younger and fitter and (maybe because of that) has more games under his belt.

The people writing Carrick off as if his performances have tanked are gas. But if ever a player has been overly rated based on who he plays for and how often it's Carrick.

Carrick has been poor for me last few appearances. He was utterly brutal against West Brom..brutal...

Memphis was excellent when he came on, expect he'll be back in the first 11 soon

Will be interesting; if teams like Southampton didn't want to sell in the summer, will they in January when it would damage them even more? You're not getting a Ronaldo or a Neymar at Xmas time.
